I Finally Watched Moulin Rogue!
Before I get executed, I wasn't born yet when the movie came out and there was no way my parents would've let me watch it growing up. But I got my chance in an airplane ride last week. Anyway, now I totally understand the hype for it. We love a movie musical that understands it is a movie musical and fully embraces camp. The extravagant set that makes no sense, the glamorous costumes, and the editing *chefs kiss* extremely whimsical and wacky. All the actors really sold their roles too. The discography is amazing, I was already entertained when they sung Nirvana but almost lost it on the plane when they started to sing "Like a Virgin". Excellent no notes. I didn't even mind the falling in love at first sight trope because the ship dynamic had a lot of great emotional potential. Anyway, the story was more about executing a theme which I think it did well enough.
But if you do want more of my opinions on the ship dynamic let me know, because I can and WILL yap about it more. It's to the point I could write an original novel on it.
