So as of late i've been thinking about SNL's incredible "Welcome To Hell" music video that came out of the Me Too movement, and the lines "and it's like, is this the world now? But here's a little secret that every girl knows: Oh this BEEN THE DAMN WORLD"
I'm ashamed to admit it, but I keep seeing news articles about horrible rubber bullet injuries and I think "how did we let this happen? Why are cops doing this now?" before I realize. This has been the world. America has been this way the whole time. We're paying attention now because it's everywhere. In the streets. The cameras are on, and everybody can see what's happening.
Don't let yourself think that this is new. This has been happening for such a long time. People have been talking about this for generations, and in the coming weeks or months we can't stop talking about it. We can never look away again.
Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. Every day, in every place, and let us never forget it for an instant. Don't let yourself be comfortable until things change.
