I'm relatively new to knitting (started last summer), but so far one of my favorite bits is the moment when a pattern ~clicks~ and you finally understand what every stitch is doing and see how the pattern is coming together. It just makes me very happy.
I'm also looking forward to seeing how this will change with more experience - I'd imagine at some point you can look at a pattern and know pretty well what's going on from the start
