Today is Mosie’s birthday.
She would have been 9 years old, but she died in March, so she will forever be the most beautiful 8 year old girl in the world. I can’t get over it. I miss her so much. The absence is overwhelming sometimes. The grief unbearable. I still cry every day. I can say that here, in this safe space, in real life admitting that seems ridiculous.
She was my best girl and I literally fell in love with her at first sight. February 18, 2017: I had planned to take my sons on a day trip to Charleston. I was scrolling through Facebook while waiting for them to get ready to go when I saw the cutest puppy ever on my local SPCA’s page. I had to have her. Trip cancelled, we drove to the SPCA so we would be there right when they opened. I was so worried someone would get to her before I did. They didn’t.
