Okay, I'm calling it, painting #7, Morpho Butterfly, is officially done!
This is a Morpho menelaus, specifically! :D Tne Morpho's bright blue color is actually structural, and not pigment!
Part of my 14 smol paintings in 28 days, February art challenge, ft insects + limited color pallette :3
It's a subtle difference in the details but it actually makes a big difference overall, now the butterflies both feel more believable, more real, and have a sense of motion to them! Background is still a work in progress but the butterflies themselves are done I think!! :D
