I finished this stinky man. Even as I upload i still forgot to colour in the vials so I just had to do that. As usual he took me two whole days instead of like... a few hours like I did with Morgen. So I went back to touch up her sprite out of spite.
I also have a glassless version of Hyde. He looks so normal here....
Side tangent but I want to talk about their design features, like Morgen is assuming a semi defensive stance, she wears really short sleeves so she has a lot of skin exposure, but somehow it doesn't make her look like an emotionally open person yk? That is her contradiction, a key part of her character.
Meanwhile Hyde is extremely overdressed (a pain to draw), but he is emotionally inviting. My headmates said he has to be holding his cane out, like a threat, and like extending a microphone to you. Mercy or cruelty depending on his mood. He's not shy of flaunting his wealth. He has a gold pocket watch (because he's from T Corp) that he doesn't bother stuffing down the whole way. I've said before how he kinda does it intentionally to invite a fight with thieves, who he would gladly beat up, using the excuse that they started it first. A really annoying person www. But I can't help but look up to it. He's the type of guy that will shout "They asked for no pickles!" on your behalf.

Morgen's having the time of her life in the Ring, that even her fairy peeks out to gaze at the art pieces with her. I gave her some changes that aren't present in the original Yi Sang ID like gloves, pretty neckwear and a different hat. That one is based on this guy. They really just let you go all out with gender presentation in the Ring huh? I noticed Yi Sang had grown out his hair a bit as well so I gave Morgen a really cute hair style that kept me staring (⸝⸝๑﹏๑⸝⸝) 10/10 ID, her happiest yet. Also while drawing the background, I kept thinking of my college's art room lmao. Grading day is hell everywhere.
This was originally the weeping willow Abno that I wanted to give to L btw 😭 And them um some traumatic stuff came back to me and I figured it would go so hard to turn that tree this.
Originally her spines were going to be way bigger like this. I think this could be used like a second form? like the Brazen Bull's transforming.
The reason why she's a WAW is because this abnormality is kind of spatial. It can be as big as a church or as small as a coffin box. The nun you see is just an attendant, someone helps you repress or express your guilt. If she had a face, she would be crying.
I based her spine parts on the lionfish. It was a random idea, but then I think about how lionfish are an invasive species in many places because they were introduced as exotic pets by the rich and then released and became a huge problem to local wildlife. They have to be hunted with spears because their spines are venomous. But once you get past that, their meat is really tasty (so I've heard).
So like the lionfish, The Confessional is a brightly lit church with beautiful stained glass and colours filling the space, but the things they make you do is venomous and causing extinction on indigenous life. If the Abnormality performs repression work on you, this is what it would look like.
I think Morgen/Yi Sang would 100% resonate with this. I haven't decided when it will show up yet. Fat chance it's going to Yoru because her canto actually features Christianity as a key plot point. I just remember Othello might resonate with it too, but not sure on Outis's front. On a meta level, looking at how she's Greek and Greece is majority Christian rn even though all the things Greek is known for came from their mythologies and not Christianity.... It's a big blergh. I don't know. I'll leave it to your interpretations.

Baby Morgen looks so apologetic even though she hasn’t done anything wrong. 😭 Her weapon, the fairy arm, has been replaced with child safe balloon sword! It is normally coiled and can be sprung out for extra range. Her class is the 🐘. I’ve decided that 🐘 class stands for the “garden project”.
Baby Hyde is looking eerily similar to Jekyll without his glasses or gleeful smile. Instead, he wears a gentle look on his face with a hand puppet that looks a lot like the adult Hyde we know. His weapon is now a rubber mallet! His class is the 🐧. I’ve decided that the 🐧 class stands for rebellion!
Baby Holmes is only 3, but he is already a genius who can study alongside older classmates! He really dislikes wearing hats, no matter if it rains or shines. His weapons are thick gloves for children as he uses gauntlets normally. That said, punching with them is so out of fashion! Baby Holmes only specialises in tug of war and kiddie wrestling. His class is the 🐥, which I’ve decided to mean curiosity!
Baby Thrones is 9 and overqualified to be here. She is quite excited to participate in play though, can’t you tell? Her anticipating gaze bores into you harsher than usual without her sunglasses concealing them. Her grip on the large piece of felted ham says she is super ready for field day. She is from the 🐥 class, as she is the most enthusiastic learner ever.
Baby Ermine has crafted his very own water gun from recycled water bottles! However, he won’t share it with anyone, so how could we play together? It is advisable that you do not let him point it at Don Quixote, if you have any mercy to spare for us. I’m sure he will listen as long as you commend his great work. His class is the 🐘 as he is related to the "garden project".
Baby Huin is sadder than ever. You hear his younger brother recently passed away and there’s nothing you can do for him. Despite that, you encouraged him to draw his own future with a magnified pencil. A truly wonderful drawing will be made by him. He belongs to the class 🐧, for he will carve out a way forward for himself.
Before the great Wing War that saw old L Corp's fall, a small circle of researchers known as the Fays have been directly aiding their usurpers, betraying their very own F Corp. Without a clue that she was being led on by her lead researcher, Morgen participated in the experimentation of countless of people.
Consumed with remorse, she had participated in the Smoke War to aid as many soldiers as she could, watching them march to their deaths in the end, as their Nest ended up on the losing side anyway. The ghost of her past (literally) still comes back to haunt her, reassuring her that she did nothing wrong, and that it was all for the sake of cleaner energy. If they had turned their backs against the cries of people to let old L Corp continue with the Smokes, just because their nests were allied, wouldn't it have been worse morally?
Still, she finds no peace in her mind. Every night she still finds herself wishing to relapse into old habits again, thrill seeking, drinking, spending the night inviting random strangers into her house. Maybe that was a part of culture in F Corp, the place known for manufacturing Fairies that can open any locks as long as they're intended to be opened. There is a certain truth in the assumption that she was just sleeping her time away from confronting her exploitation in F Corp.
Contradictory person she is, to find comfort in hiding within a shell that ill fits her because it would feel less scary than revealing her true self to everyone.

Morgen is based on Fay Illman from Flowers for Algernon. She is about 60 in current time, but she's still quite healthy because of F Corp's healthcare I suppose. I originally made her ID card back in March ^^ and by now I think I've got a good idea of F Corp's worldbuilding in my head. They're District 6 out of 26, so they'd be pretty rich yk? I'd be rambling all day if I just talk about my ideas for them...
So about Morgen, just between u and me here, I want to talk about what it means for her to be trans. Before she transitioned, she practically lived double lives where she would work as a serious researcher during the day and a promiscuous fairy at night. It's the thrill about keeping a secret that gets her going. And I think that's a key part about F Corp culture. If anyone could just unlock your locks, controlling who gets to have access to you is the real meat of the issue here.
So I think how she was before, she was relishing in what little control she did have to reveal who she really is to random inconsequential strangers who has no meaningful power in challenging her social standing. AUGHHH Morgen... I feel compelled to write her with the past and present in mind. How she was a closet trans woman her whole life, and enjoy the closet for the safety of it. After transitioning, she came back to the harrowing reality that she was betrayed and used like nothing to the woman she was enamoured with, and it made her feel disgusted with her own body and the way she has been using it up until then. So now she looks more dysphoric than ever. cry.
Oh almost forgot about abno resonance for her. She still resonate with King in Binds, Ebony Queen's Apple, Der Fluchschütze, Dream of a Black Swan, Drenched Gossypium. A lot of these have to do with her experience of wanting to run away from confronting the reality of the Smoke that was killing everyone, and how she participated in the Smoke War thinking if she could save somebody then it would be worth it but it really was just condemning more to die ig. Sorry this got so long and rambly.
