It's been a long time coming to hear news like this (but there's a catch) the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County has voted to raise the limit on the number of dogs allowed per household to four. Living in Southern California all my life and owning multiple dogs at one time, it was always behind my mind "when is animal control going to knock on my door" . . Up until Tuesday's (yesterday 7/11/17) vote a resident was previously limited to a maximum of three dogs. A statement released by Marcia Mayeda, director of Dept of Animal Care and Control "Increasing the dog limit per household will give homeless dogs additional opportunities to find permanent, loving homes and reduce animal homelessness in the county of Los Angeles,'' . . “By increasing the number of dogs allowed per household from 3 to 4, we are hoping to encourage responsible pet owners to consider adopting an additional dog from one of our county shelters,” Supervisor Kathryn Barger said in a statement. . . What has not changed is the order to have more dogs than the household limit allows, one must be licensed as an animal facility, such as a groomer, kennel, or pet shop. . . Los Angles county is a bit behind in that San Diego and San Bernardino counties already have similar four-dog ordinances, but the CATCH is the new rules only apply to households located in unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, such as East L.A., Marina Del Rey or Ladera Heights. The limit in the City of Los Angeles remains three dogs per household. . #dog #dogs #doglover #dogstagram #dogsofinstagram #4 #puppy #puppylove #rescues #shelterdog #pitbull #instadog #instapet #instagood #instadaily #pets #family #law #losangeles #sandiego #inlandempire #bulldog #moreisbetter #germanshepherd #boxer #bullmastiff (at Los Angeles West Valley Animal Shelter)
