Beastmen for my Cult of the Possessed: Praise the Great Insect!!!
I wanted some insect-like beastmen, so I put some spider heads from Wargames Atlantic on some beastman bodies, and for the arms, I used bits from the Frostgrave Gnolls.
My cult follows the great insect. Nobody knows exactly what entity these fallen cultists—formerly followers of Tzeentch—are talking about. Probably they are crazy, and people just try to stay away from them. They sing, they eat, they sacrifice living things in the name of their mysterious being, the one that speaks to them in their dreams, all with the hope of someday becoming insects themselves, and then feast on the rot of the world.
Putzing about with speed paints and moving quickly on some mordheim bandits I might get to actually use. Guy on the left got misted with white primer in a freak "what the fuck do you mean you put the white primer where the varnish was" incident and my skin painting recipe (literally just a caucasoid tone with army painter red tone over it) was forgotten until the fourth goon.
Since people really seemed to like my chaos dwarf yesterday here's another one I painted up today. This time a bull centaur!
Finally finished! I wasn't able to get everything done for the Olden Demon competition. The halberd head was especially dull, but some other details were missing too. Thanks to @save.miniatureart on IG for suggesting the pattern on the halberd. I'm not sure I got it realistic enough, but it does provide some extra interest to a part that was pretty bland.
