He was dead, his heart was no longer beating and yet he could see, feel taste and hear, he could move better than ever before he was better than any normal human, better than any mutant, better than anything that has walked the earth.
Morbius had become something that was not allowed to exist someone who could not exist and yet did whenever he looked in the mirror, in the reflection of a puddle or a window.
But this something inside him, the newer being inside him, the hunger for blood, something he needed every day, something that gave him strength, ,,I will hurt people and I won't be able to stop it.â
He had said to her that he was sure she would leave him, that he would go in that direction and he would be glad he hadn't killed her in his bloodlust.
Instead, she had pulled him into an embrace and selflessly lowered her pullover and freed her neck, throwing herself pratically at his neck, ,,I don't care...you're still the man I love, dead or alive, I'm not leaving you just because of who you are,â she said, her warm life-filled hand on his cold cheek, and he bit down for the first time.
It was the first time he'd had his way with her and she'd freely given him her blood until he eventually found alternatives to get the scum off the streets.
Quench his bloodlust she bid him farewell every night with a ,,Just come back to your caveâ before she let her bat go. Until one night, she saw the shadow coming back to the apartment they shared, heard the breeze swirling around her and footsteps that seemed silent coming to a stop behind her.
Cold hands like those of a dead man lay on her hips and a quick kiss was pressed on her neck, ,,Good evening my darling,â Morbius said and she turned to her husband, saw how refreshed he looked, how his nightly hunt was doing him good and smiled as she wiped some blood from his lips with her sweater sleeve, ,,You have something,â she said with a wink and gasped as he suddenly lifted her up and wrapped her in a blanket.
When she asked him what he was up to, he just said, ,,Just let yourself be surprised like at Christmasâ before he walked with her towards the window and she flew through the air a blink of an eye later, his ability making them both fly like magic and she clutched the blanket tighter around her as the winter chill gripped her, a problem he didn't have.
She waited and shivered as they landed on the roof of the Daily Bugel just a few moments later, ,,I thought you'd want to see what I see, just the two of us,â Morbius said, gently lowering her down with one hand on her so he could hold her.
She followed his gaze her hand resting on his and saw what he meant the whole of New York was covered in snow the lights shining like little suns and the snowflakes like angels always gliding to earth it was an overwhelmingly beautiful sight ,,Just the two of us thank you Morbiusâ she said and at the same time felt a kiss on her cheek as he held her close and even the cold couldn't stop them together.

In the city where the night seemed to be more and more horrible, the days were no better. The smog over the city spread like clouds, and the sun that shone down on the inhabitants only occasionally broke through them.
It only brought joy to the children. Joy that seemed to have been extinguished in the doctor in particular, gnawed at him since his childhood, since Morbius could think, his body was what was really capable of what he really wanted and needed. Life.
He needed life, a thing he at least got from his studies, and from his job, and her smile, which was worth more to him than all the suns combined.
Those beautiful eyes that he could now see even in the darkest night when she was looking for him and he was only a few meters away from her, since he met her, the nice nurse who was the only one who treated him as if he wasn't about to die, instead she scolded him when he was late and only helped him when he asked for it.
But it was this the treatment she provided that he came to appreciate so much, and which led to his ,,Would you like to go on a date with me?â when they were at the best restaurant in town and he saw her insecure side for the first time, which he lovingly dealt with and assured her that she could do anything she wantedâŚhe had the money and finally a use for it when he could see that smile in her eyes.
It was a smile that he saw on her face when she laid her hand on his. Her body warmth was like a drug for him, one that he could come back to again and again, over and over. And if it wasn't her warmth, then it was her voice.
Her voice that had told him, ,,When you wake up, you'll be completely new,â before he felt her last kiss when he only took the cold around him, a cold that had not left him since he woke up, just as when his heart stopped beating and this monster formed in him, this side that was only himself.
,,IâŚam new,â he had realized almost more than a year ago when he had transformed, was no longer human, and the blood he drank every night proved that he was a monster, a monster from no legend, who would bring death if he was not careful.
But even if it meant that he couldn't hide, especially in summer, and he was grateful for every time he saw her, ,,My shadow,â as she called him when she came to him after a day's work, bringing new blood that didn't come from animals, and he turned away from her, not wanting her to see him like this.
Just to feel her hand as she held his and saw her facial features slowly change and him become more âhumanâ again, the monster slowly disappearing and him hearing the gentle sound of her heart again instead of the sound of what she wanted to suck out and end up killing her.
So she needed his blood, he continued his research and in the night when it was darker and cooler and fewer people were outside, they both went outside. ,,Another dark night just for us,â he said, and she saw how he drew in his claws to reach for her hand.
His coldness was that of a dead man and yet after all this time she had gotten used to it. ,,I wish it could always be like this,â she admitted and couldn't suppress a sigh.
Sometimes it was hard after a long day of work full of lies and fake smiles to come back to the man she could only see for a few hours.
A sigh that of course did not escape him and he drew her into a cautious embrace, not pressing her too hard, his cool fingers stroking her cheek, ,,Me too, my heartâŚbut until I-we have found a solution, unfortunately it will remain so,â he admitted, seeing how she paused briefly and a slight smile crept across her lips as her darling did not give up hope either before she felt his kiss and they both went to the edge of the tall building.
The wind around them blew as the purple mist rose, the squeaking of bats that began to come out of the darkness and he took her up, pressed her to him and said, ,,I love you,â pushed himself off the balustrade and the two flew through the cool October night without anyone disturbing them, just the two of them.
And although Death held her in his hands, she felt nothing but love and affection for Morbius and his dead heart, which she still loved.

Neon lights flickered in the distance as the streets, were wet from the recent rain. You had grown accustomed to night walks, yet something about that night was different.Â
You knew you shouldn't be alone at that hour. The city has changed in recent months. Rumors of strange disappearances were the topic everyone was talking about. People who simply ceased to exist, without a trace. But you couldn't help it.
You were walking down a narrow alley when a strange noise caught my attention. At first, you thought it was a stray cat, or maybe a drunk staggering in the distance.
âWho's there? âI asked, my voice shaking more than I would have liked.
The alley was still deserted, and you decided to walk faster; just as you turned onto the next street, you saw a figure on the corner.
He was tall, with a lean but muscular build. At first glance, he could have passed for an ordinary man, but something about his posture and the way he looked at you made you pause. There was something in his eyes, something that made you take a step back.
âLost?
You didn't answer, the figure took a step towards me, and then, I could see him more clearly. His skin was pale, his eyes reddish, glowing with a voracious intensity, as if hungry for something.
The name Morbius echoed in your mind, though you had never seen him in person. Newspapers and rumors described him as a modern vampire, some said, an abomination created by science, according to others. Whatever it was, it was in front of you.
âMorbius... âyou whispered.
âAh, you've heard of me.Â
Suddenly, the reality became clearer. It wasn't just a terrifying presence; it was a hunting creature. And you were its prey. Without a second thought, you spun on my heels and ran. Footsteps echoed on the wet pavement as you tried to get away as fast as possible. You knew he was following you, you could feel it. You could feel his hunger.
Suddenly, you felt an impact on your back, and you fell to the ground, when you raised your head, he was on top of you.
âAre you afraid? âhe asked almost in a whisper. I can smell it.
You tried to scream, but the words wouldn't come out of your throat. You were paralyzed with terror as he came closer, his mouth dangerously close to your neck. You closed your eyes, expecting to feel the bite, the sharp pain of his fangs piercing your skin.
But what I felt was something far worse.
It wasn't a quick bite. It wasn't a vicious attack. Instead, I felt its mouth open on your neck. It wasn't just going to drink your blood. It was going to devour you.Â
âPlease...â you managed to whisper. âDonât...â
His lips brushed your neck, and then you felt the first bite. It was no ordinary bite. It was a deep, stabbing pain. Your body convulsed from the pain, but you couldn't move enough to escape.
The pain was excruciating, but the worst part was knowing there was no escape.Â
Finally, when the pain became too much, everything began to fade. Your vision blurred, the sound of Morbius' breathing and the echo of your screams faded into the void. The last thing you saw was his bloodstained face, with a satisfied smile as he devoured you alive.
So I'm doing a Morbius re-watch while working on an essay, and I got (once again) a sudden urge to write about Dr. Michael Morbius. If I did write something, would anyone read it, though? I just really want to write something about him, so if anyone has any requests, don't feel shy and send them to me.
P.S. I know the movie came out a long time ago, but who cares?
Warmly Greet! I found you through a request for Morbius...hey, I saw the movie for the first time yesterday and fell in love with the movie and the character Michael right away! Can I leave a request for Michael? Where the reader (female) is also a vampire, but a slightly different kind - she is irritated by light, so she wears sunglasses during the day. Garlic irritates her and crosses are also a problem. However, she tries to keep Michael from finding out the truth about her true self...I'll leave the rest up to you, but please, something cuteeeee!
Genre(s)/Tag(s): Female!Reader, Vampire!Reader, Post-Morbius events, mild power imbalance (Morbius is Readerâs boss), a bit of an age gap (Reader is older than Morbius by an unspecified amount of time)
Notes: The title is inspired by the song âVampireâ by Shane Calvert
Also, I havenât seen Morbius since it came out in theaters, so forgive me if I get anything wrong!
I will most likely do part two if people send in requests for it.Â
You didnât remember when you were turned. It had been decades at this point. You would age throughout the years, but it was slowly. At a fraction of the speed at which regular humans would get older.
Part of you missed it. You missed aging regularly with those you loved. You missed being close to others without them knowing about your⌠problem. Any time anyone gathered even the slightest hint of your vampiric nature, you would have to up and leave. Uproot any semblance of normalcy you had and move somewhere far away.Â
But, it did mean you were well-to-do and well-traveled. After all, years and years of living meant you could do practically whatever you wanted. You excelled in the medical field. Money wasnât a problem. You lived frugally and saved every penny you could in case you had to move again.Â
But you canât help but fall in love with New York.Â
The bustling streets.
The honking of cars.
The acrid scent of smog.
You love it all.
You fit right in in âThe City that Never Sleepsâ and quickly fall into a routine. Youâre initially hired as a nurse at Horizon Labs and quickly climb the ranks due to your expertise until you are the assistant to the one and only Doctor Michael Morbius.
âWorking late again?â You yelp and drop your pen as your bossâs voice echoes in your office. You look up to see him leaning in your doorway, an amused grin on his face.
Ever since he found a cure, he looked good.
Like⌠really goodâŚ
You liked Michael before he was cured, but now it was just plain inconvenient to have a boss this good-looking.
You hoped this wasnât going to turn into one of those trashy romance novels.
You averted your eyes back to your work but laughed nonetheless.
âSomeone has to finish all this paperwork.â You tease and flip a page. You hear him straighten and approach your desk, taking a seat in front of you in one of two empty chairs. You look at him through your lashes and find him watching you expectantly.
âCan I help you?â You muse as you pick up your pen, scan the document, sign some lines, and set it aside for Michael to look at tomorrow.
âMaybe.â He says cryptically, and you look at him fully. Heâs lounging like a large cat in the sun. He oozes power and commands the room, not at all like he used to be before he got better.
âPray tell.â You say, and he offers a charming smile,
âMight I take you out for dinner?â He says finally, and you actually snap your pen with your vampiric strength in surprise.Â
Ink splatters up and down your front, and you let out a surprised shriek. Michael is on his feet in an instant, pulling out his handkerchief and handing it over as apologies spill like sweet honey from his lips. You use the cloth to wipe your face and youâre sure you only succeed in smearing it across your face. Your ears burn as you positively steam in embarrassment.Â
This wasnât how you imagined him asking you out to dinner would go.Â
You scrub for the fourth time with soap and water, ignoring the sting of the soap in your eyes as you try to remove the ink staining your face. Your blouse and blazer were a lost cause, but your black slacks might be salvageable.Â
The bathroom that was initially closest to your office was three floors down. Still, Michael had insisted you use his private bathroom adjacent to his office. It was large and equipped for someone who needed a wheelchair or crutches like he used to need.Â
There was a quiet knock on the door, and you hurriedly buttoned your blazer over your wet shirt. The paper towels were rough against your skin, but you scrubbed your face until it was as clean as possible, and the skin felt raw.Â
Michael waited outside the door, an apologetic look on his handsome face. However, his expression brightened when you opened the door.Â
âWhatâs the damage?â He asks, and you cross your arms to hide the ink-stained blouse further.Â
âWell, my shirt and blazer are a lost cause. But my trousers might be saved.â You say, more embarrassed at yourself than anything. It wasnât like he did anything wrong. In fact, he did nothing wrong entirely. It was all because of your stupid blunder that you were in this mess.Â
âAre you sure I canât get your clothes dry-cleaned? It might get the stains out.â He offers for the umpteenth time, and you laugh awkwardly,Â
âIâm not paying for dry cleaning for a shirt I got at the thrift store.â You say, and he holds his hands up in defeat.Â
âWell, you canât say I didnât try.âÂ
The two of you fall into step as you head toward the elevator to go down to the parking garage so you can go home and change. It isnât until youâre in the elevator that Michael speaks again.Â
âYou know, you never answered my question. About dinner, I mean.â He says, and you swallow a surprised noise. Part of you hoped that he wouldâve forgotten. Or maybe thought you wouldâve said no.Â
But why?
Was it because of your massive and embarrassing crush on your boss? He was still supposedly grieving his fiancĂŠe Martineâs death! You never got the details, but you knew she had been murdered, and the case went cold after a few months.Â
Sure, it had been over a year since her death, but everyoneâs grief looked different!
You realize abruptly that you havenât answered his statement and swallow.Â
âSure?â You squeak, and your heart almost stops when he grins a bright, brilliant smile.Â
âHow about tomorrow after work? Assuming you donât stay late again?â He near teases and you rub at the back of your neck and smile.Â
âI wonât. Text me the details, will you? This is my stop.â You say as the elevator comes to a halt and dings as the doors open.Â
You wait until youâre in your car before letting out a panicked shriek.Â
You had just agreed to dinner with your boss!Â
Something was bound to go horribly wrong.Â
Tomorrow canât come soon enough, yet it comes faster than youâre prepared for. You dress in âsomething nice,â as Michael asked. A simple black dress with a gold necklace from your late mother that was worth more than your rent each month in your dinky little New York apartment.Â
As you stated above, you lived frugally. But that didnât mean you didnât have expensive things.Â
The heels you picked out clacked against the lobby of your apartment complex as you waited for Michael to pick you up. You offered to drive yourselfâyou had a car, for goodness sake!â but he insisted on driving you to the restaurant. You pace back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, back andâ
Your phone buzzes in your clutch purse, and you nearly drop it in an attempt to get it out quickly.Â
Michaelâs name lights up your screen with a text.Â
âIâm out front.â
Short and sweet, not an emoji in sight. It was as if he was texting you a question about work, not taking you out on a date.Â
This was a date, wasnât it? Dinner was typically reserved for dates, right?
Oh heavens, you were so anxious.
Michael drives some sort of fancy car that you donât bother to look too closely at. He gets out, opens your door, and shuts it behind you once youâre situated. Heâs dressed in a simple and informal suit. He doesnât have a tie, the top button of his button-up is undone, and he leaves his blazer open. His hair is tied back out of his face, and overall, he just looks⌠really good.
You immediately feel your mouth go dry.Â
You feel very under dressed.Â
âYou look beautiful.â He says as he pulls out into New York traffic, and you feel your ears burn. When was the last time someone made your heart race like this?Â
Years?
Decades?
âYou do, too. Handsome, I mean! You look very handsome!â You all but sputter, and he laughs. A rich, heartwarming sound that has you smiling involuntarily.
The restaurant is more expensive than anything you couldâve hoped to afford. Well⌠You could if you splurged your savings, but there was a point to you living the way you did. Michael opened your door before you couldâve even thought of getting out yourself and offered you a hand. He then gives the keys to the valet, and you head inside.
His hand is warm and, if you had to assume, just the slightest bit clammy?
Was he just as nervous as you?Â
The host welcomes you both with a smile, and when Michael gives the name of the reservation, youâre seated at a table sequestered in the corner. You both take a moment to look at the menu before ordering.Â
âDoes this entree have garlic in it?â You ask the server when he looks at you to take your order. The man nods his head,
âYes, maâam. But we can remove it if you like.â You nod happily at the idea,
âYes, please, will you let the kitchen know I have a severe garlic allergy?â He lets you know he will and scurries away with your order.Â
Michael looks vaguely surprised,
âI didnât know you were allergic to garlic.â He commented, and you shrug,
âIt never came up in conversation?â You say awkwardly, and he offers a kind smile,
âWell, thank you for telling me. Do you have an EpiPen in case something goes wrong?â You nod and pull out said EpiPen. Of course, it wouldnât really do anything, seeing as it wasnât made of silver and couldnât pierce your skin, but it was mostly to keep up appearances.Â
Dinner was served after a while of small talk. It was little things. But you liked the little things. But that didnât stop you from lying about your life. Because what could you do? Tell the whole truth? Ha! That would get you burned at the stake.
It was things like, what brought you to New York? (You said you needed a change of pace.)
What were your hobbies outside of work? (Sleeping and reading.)
It wasnât long before you turned the attention back to Michael. Because you realized that after almost a year of working for Horizon Labs, you knew barely anything about your boss.
Where was he born? (Greece.)
What did he do outside of work? (Go for walks around the city.)
What was his favorite color? (Red.)
Like you said, you liked the little things.Â
The dinner ended all too soon. The restaurant was closing, and you realized you had been there for hours. But it felt as if the time had flown. You felt like you were talking to an old friend, not your boss.Â
You just had one more question as he dropped you off, insisting on walking you back to your apartment door.Â
âWhy me?â You mumbled as you unlocked the front door. Michaelâs handsome face twisted in confusion.Â
âWhat do you mean?â He asks genuinely, and you chew on the inside of your cheek.
âI mean⌠After Martine⌠Why pick me? I mean, look at you! You could date anyone! So⌠I guess I just want a straight answer from you. Why pick me?â You say, keeping your eyes averted in case he lashes out.
But he wouldnât⌠Would he?
A hand grasps yours, and you look up to see Michael looking at you with such a tender expression that you almost cry.
âI picked you because youâre kind and sweet and honest. You cared for the patients you worked with when you were a regular nurse, and now that youâre my assistant, you keep me sane.â He replies, and you huff out a watery laugh.

Warnings: stealing, drinking blood, description of puncture wounds, death, dead people, blood.
Word Count: 2,2K
This was a request
@davrosfan23
You feared a lot of things but death frightened you the most. You dealt with death on a daily basis. It was an unfortunate consequence of your profession. Nurses helped save lives but they also had to witness a lot of deaths during their careers. Your fear had been the reason youâd started researching vampirism in the first place. It had started out as a joke, something to help you pass the time. Something to give you hope. But soon enough it turned into a hobby. And then it became an obsession. Youâd read every single literature that had been published. Youâd exhausted every single web source and had even published some papers about the subject. It was safe to say youâd become an expert on vampirism. So when you flipped on the news and heard the words âthe bodies were drained of their bloodâ you knew exactly what was going on.Â
Youâd stumbled into work that day, your body shaking in excitement while your mind tried to compute that this was actually real. You managed to sneak into the morgue of the hospital and find the body of the victim.
âSorry about this.â
The corpse hardly seemed to mind your presence but you still felt like you should apologize for the intrusion. You leaned down, eyes glancing at the puncture wounds on the victims neck. There were two small holes, just like youâd imagined there would be. You placed the body back to its original position and went back to work like nothing had happened. That night you poured over the news, searching for every smidge of information you would find on the culprit. If there was really a vampire on the loose you needed to find them.Â
Days passed and you heard nothing about any new victims. The people who arrived at the hospital were all suffering from normal injuries. Well, as normal as you could expect at a hospital. You had started to think your vampire had gone into hiding or perhaps theyâd gotten control of their hunger. Both of those options didnât benefit you in any manner. It would be much easier to get a starved monster to turn you than it would be to convince one who had already developed some sort of control. You were about to give up when there was another attack. You cursed yourself for having the day shift on the day it happened. But despite not being there when it occurred the attack had given you a clue about the culprit. They had access to the lower levels of the hospital. Which didnât narrow it down all that much but it helped. You also knew that Dr. Micheal had been on the ship where the first bodies had been found and despite people thinking he was responsible for this more recent attack, something told you he wasnât guilty.Â
Youâb been analyzing possible culprits for hours now. Your brain was starting to hurt and your eyes were growing tired.
âOkay break time.â
You walked to the nearest bar deciding that maybe getting some alcohol in your system might help you relax and get your brain back up and running. You were sitting on a stool of the bar, sipping your beverage absentmindedly, when the commotion started. You heard the raised voices to your left causing you to turn your head in that direction. There was a group of men surrounding a young woman. You observed the men, not recognizing them until your eyes fell on a particular one. You recognized Milo due to his visits to Micheals lab from time to time. You remembered him walking past the nurses station. Your eyes trailed down to where you were used to seeing his cane but it wasnât there. You glanced up again, your eyes finally focusing on the way Milo looked. He seemed much stronger than the last time youâd seen him. You continued to watch the conversation, eyes glued to Milo's features. And boy were you glad youâd decided to focus on his face because the moment his features shifted before your eyes you knew you were looking at your vampire. You nearly fell out of your chair as the realization hit you. Once you'd managed to climb off the stool and make your way through the crowd youâd already lost sight of him. You let out a defeated sigh returning to the bar and ordering another drink.Â
You spent the rest of the night trying to figure out how youâd get Milo to come to you. Eventually you got sick of the bar and decided to call it a night. You almost made it to your apartment when a scream cut through the silent street. Your body perked up at the noise. Before you could even realize what you were doing your feet were already on the move. You raced in the direction of the sound, eyes moving to look up at the sky in search of any movement. You wouldnât have noticed the bodies if it werenât for the smell of blood. You stared at the three corpses slumped in front of the bar you had just been at. A sudden gust of wind made you look up just in time to see Milo jump from one roof to the other. This was it. This was your moment.
You raced back to your apartment fumbling with the keys in desperation as you tried to open the door. You went directly to the small fridge hidden in the closet. You grabbed two bags of blood before rushing back out into the street. For the last few days youâd started stealing blood bags from the hospital. You never took too much, not wanting to draw attention to yourself. You just grabbed enough to have in case your plan worked. You didnât want to be caught unprepared if you somehow managed to get yourself turned. Youâd never been more glad for your overthinking.Â
Climbing up the fire escape proved to be more complicated than you had anticipated. For some reason the landlord of the building had never taken care of the stairs which meant they cracked and clanged with every move. Still you managed to get to the roof in one piece and without spilling any of the blood. You stood in the middle of the roof, your eyes searching for any movement before grabbing the switchblade youâd put into your pocket. You cut open one of the bags, dipping your hand in the substance and smearing it against your neck. You applied a generous amount of blood to your body before spreading the rest in a circle around you. Â
Now all you had to do was wait.Â
The smell of blood was overpowering but you knew that was a good thing. If you wanted to draw Milos attention he had to be able to smell it from far away. You glanced at your watch impatiently.
âWhat the hell is taking him so long.â
âWell that's a first.â
Your head snapped at the sound of his voice. Goosebumps covered your body as you stared at him. You watched Milo make his way to you slowly. His features werenât the way they normally were. There was a slightly monstrous look to them.
âIâve been waiting for you.â
âI can see that.â
Milo looked you up and down letting out a small hum of approval.
âThe question is why?â
Your breath caught in your throat as Milo came closer to you, his face inches from yours. Gosh he was handsome.Â
âThis isnât yours.â
You knew he was referring to the blood.Â
âNo itâs not.â
âYou must be crazy then.â
âI consider myself more of an admirer actually.â
âIs that so?â
There was actual surprise in Milo's face. Was he not used to people wanting him?
âIâve been searching for you.â
âWhy?â
âBecauseâŚâ
Why had you been searching for him? Had it only been about becoming immortal? Or was there more to it? Could it have been because the thought of spending eternity with someone excited you? You hadnât been opposed to the idea once you realized who the vampire was. Milo was a very attractive man and something about him made butterflies appear in your stomach.Â
âIâm waiting.â
âSorry. I want to be like you.â
The hand that had wrapped itself around your arm withdrew for a moment. You almost screamed at the lack of contact. Milo looked at you in silence. You could tell there were a million thoughts running through his head.
âI donât know how to do that.â
âIt's okay. I do.â
âWhat are you? Some sort of fanatic?â
âIâd like to consider myself more of an enthusiast.â
Milo laughed at your words, his hand going back to where heâd placed before.Â
âWell alrighty then. Iâll turn you. On one condition.â
âAnything.â
âLeave me alone.â
You gave him a puzzled look.Â
âI canât be stuck babysitting you. Iâve got my own shit to deal with.â
You felt like someone had just plunged a blade into your heart. Was he really that revolted by you? Milo watched your face change from sadness to anger then to acceptance.Â
âFine.â
âGreat.â
Milo leaned down, his tongue lapping at the half dried blood that clung onto your skin. You closed your eyes, allowing him to do as he wished. Your hands found their way onto Milo's shoulders as he continued to lick at your skin. Once he seemed satisfied with his work his lips moved to the vein in your neck. You felt the tips of his fangs puncture your skin, a small groan leaving your lips. You could feel the blood leaving your body. Milo's grip on you became even harsher than it had been before. It was then that you realized youâd just given a starved lion a juicy steak. Getting him off wasnât going to be easy but you were up for the challenge. You let Milo drink your blood for a while before grasping his hair in your hands. Once youâd started to feel faint you tugged at Milos' hair with all your strength. Despite being much stronger than you, Milo unlatched from your neck when you tugged at his hair. You eyes met his crazed ones for a moment before leaning forward and capturing his lips in yours. You felt Milo's body stiffen. Before he managed to push you away you bit into his lip as strong as you could. You felt the metallic taste of blood fill your lips. You could only hope that it was enough. Milo pushed you off him, his hand going to the gash on his lips.
âWhat the hell man!â
âIâm sorry it was the only way for me to-â
âYou're crazy.â
With that Milo raced to the edge of the roof and jumped.
âMilo wait!â
You went after him. Your body felt strange and your legs wobbled as you tried to run but you managed to get to the edge. You hopped up on the ledge.
âDonât leave me!â
Your body felt as light as a feather and your vision was starting to get blurry. Before you knew it your body sagged forward. You were falling. You closed your eyes as death came to greet you. The irony of the situation didnât go missed by you. The last thing you felt before your demise was the feeling of cold metal beneath you. And then you were gone.
Darkness surrounded you. Was this what happened after death? Just a pool of nothingness? Kind of disappointing. You glanced around, searching for something other than pitch black. Youâd almost given up when you heard something. The sound was far away but you could still hear it.Â
âMister?â
You blinked your eyes as the harsh light of the street lamp came into view. You groaned, trying to get up.
âHey mister you should probably stay still. The ambulance will be here any second.â
You glanced at the person talking to you. Your eyes widened as you realized you could hear their heartbeat. Your throat felt raw. It was like you hadn't had anything to drink in years. And your stomach. Good lord. Your stomach ached in a way youâd never felt before. You took a deep breath in as you managed to sit up.
âItâs a miracle you survived the fall.â
You could hear the person talking to you but you couldnât focus on the words. Your nose had gotten a whiff of blood and your mouth had started to salivate. You turned to look at the person beside you.
âAnd donât even worry about the car. Iâm just glad youâre alright.Â
You felt the muscles in your face shift as you watched the person's eyes widen.Â
âWhat the he-â
Before theyâd even managed to get the rest out you pounced. Your fangs grew as you opened your mouth. You sank your teeth into the person's neck, cutting off their scream as you finally got a taste of what your body so desperately craved. You felt their body sag into the ground as you drank them dry. Once there wasnât any more blood you unlatched yourself from their corpse. You looked up at the moon and grinned. Your body had never felt stronger. You felt invincible. No. You were invincible. A strangled laugh made its way out of your lips.
