Visited a few personal history #dallas landmarks today … first, my dad’s and my favorite “greasy hamburger joint” near his fave golf course @cedarcrestgc and the park where he taught countless #oakcliff kids, adults and grandparents to swim over 30+ years every summer and the locale of his beloved retirement job, where he worked the register and helped his longtime friend, frat brother and golf compadre Howard Aldridge at his community pharmacy. Second, the one-block Plum Street in the @10th_streetra historical district, where my grandparents purchased a home after moving to Dallas from Cass County inEast #texas (home of @eagles #donhenley) in the 1920s and raised most of their children, including my mom, Dr Mamie Abernathy McKnight. PURCHASED | 47 Lee Ave Patience, patience, patience. Is what I always tell myself, and to my #firsttimehomebuyer (s). What first started our search in #trinitybellwoods , then #leaside, #moorepark, evidently swayed us #east to #thebeaches. My clients sister purchased a home a week before 5 doors down on the same street. 47 Lee hits the market, and we show the husband and wife on FaceTime (while she’s working in Nunavut). This home is pretty special being right smack dab, across from #kewpark in the true beaches. The lake is 10 houses down the street. • • • Navigating in this crazy seller’s market is hard, especially with first time home buyers. How did we get this home may you ask? 1. Deposit 💵 in hand (bank draft of more than 10%) I dropped it off at 9pm that night - to make it a firm deal. 2. Buyer’s Bio - some say corny, I say it works. I always get my buyers to write a letter to the prospective seller telling a bit about them, and what won us this house (aside from price), is how special the sisters would be living on the same street and reuniting as family during Covid. 3. Having an experienced agent on your side. There were 6 offers and I’m so incredibly happy for my clients to move in and get to enjoy their new home. Toronto’s largest cemetery by internments at over 168,000. This was taken on a 2009 rainy walk of the sprawling grounds. It was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2000.
