So I’ve been playing Mass Effect and have the biggest brain rot. So here’s some headcanons!
Nonbinary Tali! I think they use they/she pronouns. I think the quarians don’t put much emphasis on gender, but my theory is that they have some kind of sexual dimorphism related their faces. Thus the different masks between afabs and amabs.
Transgender man Garrus! I have no evidence for this and it probably makes no sense but like… come on.
Here’s where my ideas get a bit out there. I think Thane is Moonwaterine. It’s a gender linked to the moon and fluidity and can be linked to spirituality. It’s a calm, spiritual, moonlit gender. I think Thane would use xe/xer, moon/moonself and shell/shellself pronouns with people he trusts, but in mixed company presents as he/they.
Spacegender Mordin Solus! Our singing salarian scientist probably sees himself in the stars that he travels through alongside Commander Shepherd. I think he mainly uses he/him, but if star gets close to you star’ll tell you star prefers star/starself pronouns. For instance Shepherd and Maelon likely knew about star’s preference.
Demiromantic Angender Wrex. I think Wrex will bang anything with a pulse, but really needs a close friendship before romantic feelings start to develop. I also think he’s angender, meaning his gender kind of feels like a rage boiling under his skin. I think Wrex’s gender is just that. Rage.
Anyway thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
