perhaps it is the bit of fresh air,  or the sound of her sons laughter mixed in with the gentle breeze, that has ella feeling a bit lighter on her feet. if she closes her eyes, she can imagine herself someone quieter. perhaps back home in the wandering isle with a little cottage and a garden that ella could tend to while theo chased around the butterflies. years ago, she thought that the second army would always be her place. that the kefta she wore would hold more bearing to her than anything else ever would. her hands were meant to save, not to kill. her path always fit that of a healer. it was not until she had theo that her entire way of thinking changed.Â
@moonvigilâ : why do you have that look on your face?  ( x )
nikolai breaks the silence as she turns over her shoulder to look at him once more. the look of contemplation is gone from her features, replaced with a warm and content smile. â  iâve just never seen theo this happy before. â he was a boy of few words, but knew a plethora of other ways to express himself. the sound of his laughter alone was enough to send a warmth directly through her chest. smoothing her hands down the red silk of her kefta, ella exhales quietly before turning to face the prince directly. â  i truly cannot thank you enough for all you have done for him. for both of us. â
