Hi lovely Amber <3 Happy early new year!! If you feel like it, what are twelve things you did to make yourself proud this year? Can be blog related, personal, whatever you feel like—I just think it’d be fun to celebrate the good things about 2025 :)
hi Mae!!! Happy (almost) New Year to you! I can't believe it's 2026...
Anyway this is so cute, thank you so much for sending me this! Anyone can feel free to join and do it themselves too :)
I started my first garden this year! I learned a lot from it, including that I really do have a green thumb and it wasn't just a fluke in my college plant bio classes lmao. I learned what to do (and a lot of what NOT to do) which I will take with me as I start planning my garden for spring!
I got off TikTok. Technically this was before 2025, but it was my resolution for this year to be on my phone less, and that was the #1 biggest change that did it for me.
I read so much this year! Obviously I've always been a huge consumer of fanfiction but I made a point to actively read books this year! Not as many I'd like, but that's a goal for next year too, then!
I started this blog! I have been wanting to write fanfiction for a while but I never really put any effort into it until this year. I'm proud of how much I was able to write and how much improvement I've seen in my skills just since April!
I got laser hair removal. This sounds kind of crazy but I've mentioned it before on my blog, it's something I've wanted to do for a long time and I get half price now that I work in dermatology so... best choice ever
I went on SO MANY DATES. And most of them were terrible, BUT I'm putting myself out there and I'm getting out of my apartment which is more than I can say for the past few years...
I spent a lot of time trying to educate myself this year, which is ironic because this is the first full year where I have had NO formal schooling at all (wow...). It's so different learning something because you have to use it in your master's thesis and learning something because it genuinely intrigues you!
I started playing chess! Am I good? No. But it's really fun and I like learning how to play!
I spent more time this year focused on my health than I ever have, especially my mental health. It's important to take care of yourself, especially in rough times!
I put some important boundaries in place with people. It can be hard because knowing you're losing a relationship of any kind hurts a lot but you can be hurt worse by staying in it.
I accidentally became important at work when my favorite coworker quit, which doesn't sound positive but I got a hella good raise and I've learned how to be more adaptable at my job!
I pushed myself out of my comfort zone so many times this year!!! On purpose!!! Take that anxiety lmao
I hope you have a wonderful new year, Mae!! Love you <3
