Fullbody for moonlace // Thank you so much again/
Moonlace
Once a vision of constancy in the sky, the moon had long been hidden from view by the haze that chokes the heavens. The very sight of it had become a sign that change was in the air.

Holy shit Kat for a moment your avatar was blurred on my dash and I panicked I thought you got sniped omg—
PLEASE
just yesterday I was thinking oh, the feminine urge to delete this blog & never to be heard from again and now this sjdghdjkhg
I think I'm still alive and kicking though. I think.
What if Percy Jackson television series started like this:
There’s a raven-haired boy, college aged, wearing a blue shirt, walking into his dorm room. We don’t ever see his face, but the room tells us everything we need to know. There are two messy beds, each on opposite walls. One has a blue blanket and sheets sprawled about, a poorly stitched pillow pet off to the side.
The boy looks out the window briefly. A beautiful plant sits in a flower box in the window. There are rolling hills in the distance, a whole town sitting on them. Parents walk with their kids on the worn paths, many of the teens are wearing purple for some reason. In the sky, birds are flying, but they seem oddly big.
The raven-haired boy then takes a seat at his desk. It’s even messier than the bed. It’s covered in various books, papers, and knickknacks that seem meaningless at first glance. On the wall there is a cork board, covered in various pictures. A mother hold her baby, a young blonde girl staring in awe at the Statue of Liberty, a curly haired boy, wearing a hat, and so many more, but none of the boy in question.
There’s a bag of assorted candy to the side on the desk, all the contents blue. He grabs out a piece of taffy and bites into it. He begins clearing out a small spot and sets a blue notebook there and a dictionary to the side. Taking another bite, he grabs a pencil and you notice a strange tattoo on his arm, a trident with a line under it.
He opens his notebook. The page is blank for a while, the raven-haired boy tapping the pencil against the paper, thinking. Finally, something is written down.

Give me a description of one of your favorite places in moon hollow. Why? Don't ask questions you'll see for yourself.
The Moonlace. It’s a winding staircase that climbs one of the cliffs that surround the Moonhollow like the lacing of a corset. It leads to outcroppings and overlooks and eventually reaches the top of the cliff and the forest above.
The Moonlace is made of white steel, full of swoops and curls that fill its railings with runes. It’s beautiful from a distance. Mages use the runes for memory tricks and training, and they say if you tap certain runes in order, mysterious things will happen. They say there’s a rune for illusion wings hidden somewhere in the decorative swirls of the Moonlace. I spent many a night hunting for it when i was little.
But I don’t look for the wing rune anymore. Now, when I visit, I just like to stand at the edge of the topmost outlook and stare out over the whole bowl valley in the Moon’s light. To feel that sheer drop in front of me, one step from the safety of my sure footing. That perspective... that’s my wings.

l. how much do you edit a piece before you consider it complete?it depends! my Style is sort of like a stream of consciousness so to speak, because most of the time words just come to me and i have at it until i have something cohesive and complete. and generally speaking, not much editing goes into that process! which is probably obvious considering the poems i post with typos in them lmao but for anything that takes me more than a day to finish, i usually leave it alone for a day or so before i revisit it just to make sure i like what i’ve already written/see if i need to tweak or change anything, and as time goes on, i’ll add to it until i’m satisfied with what i’ve got!
already answered w!
thank u bb!! <3
