Synopsis:

Ah the mid to late 90s where it seemed like band after band started coming along the magically had that sound of metal meets noise meets franticness meets song titles written in poetic prose.  All in the name of artistic violence, cuz you know, we have feelings about slaying those we disagree with.  Ok I went overboard there for a bit, but you sarcastically speaking, that was that genre from that time period.  Some of it good, some of it really good, yet some of it was just a bite off of what everyone else was doing.  Canephora to me was one of those bands.  I imagine the singer rolling around the floor of a VFW hall with no shoes on, choker around the neck, bleached hair, and unnaturally pale scream his lungs out.  Probably literally.  Chaotic metal that really is more structured and planned than most want to admit, but its pretty good for what it is.  Not a lot of hooks here to stand out from others, but if the whole screamo thing is your bag or angst, rock it.

Moo Cow was a label prided itself on releasing records of bands they/he liked.  I didn't matter to him if it sold or not, he did it out of conviction and dedication.  I admire that.  Especially when back then it was expensive to run a label that continuously churned out releases unlike today.  Moo Cow always put effort into their releases as well, often glossy and eye catching as is the case here.  The fonts and artwork are a bit pixelated, but its par for the course for the time period.
