How would you design a one-legged humanoid similar to the Skiapods of Greek mythology and Saci-Perere of South American folklore?
the body shape kinda reminds me of a seal. seal feet are actually what look like tail fins, and their legs are fully encased in their bodies, no clear limb separation. of course, if you want a similar shape to be able to hop around on land, the encased legs will need more muscle than fat, and the big foot has to be quite sturdy.
so maybe a monopod person could look something like this:
(image description: sketch of a humanoid figure with their legs fused together, ending in a large fan-shaped foot with seven toes, one toe extra large in the middle. they also have a thick tail similar to that of a kangaroo. end description)
the tail is optional, but I think it would help their balance! especially if you go fully into a kangaroo tail and have it long enough to reach the ground and support them at rest.
the crotch would also likely be more similar to that of a seal, everything internal with a small opening at the front of the pelvic region. Or you can take inspiration from kangaroos again and set them up with the same structure.
heck, a marsupial monopod would be pretty neat!
