canon can confirm (literally mono irl)
For as much as I'd hoped that Six may be present as the SLIGHTEST bit of cameo in Little Nightmares 3, a post made by someone else has given me the insight that Little Nightmares 1 REALLY IS where Six's story ends.
Because Six's story is not of triumph, but one of tragedy -- one that I already knew, but tried desperately to cling onto hope that maybe, she's not completely lost yet. A child who started out with what little innocence she had left after crossing into the Nowhere, into becoming the very monster she was running away from... a permanent resident of The Nowhere.
Six may not belong to The Maw like The Ladies before her did, but it's obvious that she's landed herself in the proverbial flytrap that is The land of Nowhere itself, and she's not getting out of there. When we follow Six through Very Little Nightmares, LN 2 and then LN 1, it becomes apparent that this is the story of a victim becoming an abuser, emboldened by the very social structures that push a developing mind towards a darker path. When bad actions are rewarded, and good actions are punished-- it's no wonder Six's story ends in Little Nightmares 1.
Because by the end of the first game, we no longer follow Six.
We're just following the walking, broken shell of her, as she rises beyond the steps to the outside of The Maw's smokestack.
Through Six, we see the process of those who survive continuing the cycle. And the only difference is, Six's next actions beyond The Maw has caused a massive shift in the comfortable cycle that The Nowhere was content on reusing, leading to the events of Little Nightmares 3, where you can sense that something has changed in terms of the landscape, but you can't pinpoint what.
All you know is that everything seems to be falling apart. Six has literally started a butterfly effect to ripple throughout the Nowhere, and suddenly, the disjointed presentation of the third game makes sense.
The Necropolis was barren and crumbling in on itself. The Candy Factory is on the brink of a systemic collapse. The Carnival is losing the patience of it's patrons and is becoming more and more chaotic. And The Institute is on the verge of splitting itself apart.
Once you see it, it becomes very clear that The Nowhere is desperately trying to hold itself together and doing damage control, trying to switch tactics since the oh so 'perfect' cycle of Mono and Six is no longer an available option, and that is to cross over to the human world to try and save itself.
