I wish I’d learned years ago that I am enough, that my art doesn’t have to be perfect, and that there is real value in the mess and emotion. . I feel a lot freer when I’m being true to myself even if it means drawing a whole page of swirls. I have been watching and reading a lot to do with trauma, self-acceptance, where my path in life is, etc. I've come to accept I’m not gonna always be on-trend or the best technical artist. But, I also accept that what I have to share and say is valuable, because it’s valuable to me. . I think like many others I’ve been so affected and fearful of others' negative opinions that I am hypercritical of myself before I even finish the piece or finish the page of sketches. Sure, put out great work and enjoy it, but don’t gaslight and punish yourself over it not being perfect.That’s what I was doing. . Thank you open universe of Instagram for hearing me! And even if you don’t that's okay! . I kept pulling oracle cards this past month and the one I’ve repeatedly pulled said “You are enough”! 😅 Bout damn time I start actually paying attention to it.
