If you are taking fic requests, could you do GCPD detective!tim and redhood/gang leader!jason. Thanks! -K
Sorry this took me so long, but I hope you like it!
Tim grabbed his jacket off the back of his chair when he heard the call.Â
âDrake! Detective Drake!âÂ
âIâll be back,â he shouted back, pushing through the front doors of the precinct. He jumped into his cruiser and quickly pulled out of the parking lot, nearly drifting into the second lane in his hurry.Â
The Red Hood. The gang leader heâd been following for weeks was finally going to make an appearance again. Heâd managed to get in close contact with him once and despite Red Hoodâs threats he hadnât dropped his investigation of him.Â
Tim flipped on his sirens, grinning as the path cleared in front of him, civilian cars eager to get out of his way. Technically he wasnât supposed to use the sirens on his cruiser. Most of the officers didnât like that he got a cruiser since he was a detective, but it did have his perks and he made sure never to abuse his standing.Â
His tires screeched as he whipped around the next corner, heading for the warehouse district near the docks. He knew where this meeting was happening. He knew where the Red Hood housed his operations, but he hadnât been able to make his move yet.Â
Tonight would be his opportunity.Â
He killed the sirens a couple blocks away and turned off his headlights, slowing until he found an alley to slide into. He drove a few feet in, wanting to keep his vehicle hidden to immediate detection, but not have it tucked so far away that getting out would be difficult.Â
Tim climbed out of his car and paused at the mouth of the alley. The buildings around him were dark and the nearby streets were quiet. He ducked his head and hurried down the streets, mentally mapping out how far he was from his destination.Â
He weaved through the streets quickly and circled around the back of the Red Hoodâs warehouse. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and ignored it. Now wasnât the time to risk drawing attention to himself.Â
He glanced behind him, satisfied when he found himself alone. He carefully moved along the wall, doing his best to keep to the shadows.Â
A bullet ricocheted off the next brick in front of him. He whirled around, trying to keep calm as he took in the figure of the Red Hood looming a few feet away from him.Â
âWell, well, well...it seems that I found a little rat hanging around my house,â he said, closing the distance between them, the gun still pointed in Timâs direction.Â
Tim swallowed, trying not to let himself get distracted by the two other guns strapped to his thighs.Â
âI know youâve been watching me. It hasnât been too hard to figure out. Youâre not as sneaky as you might think.âÂ
Tim swallowed, not daring to move. âWell, itâs not easy when Iâm working alone and donât have easy access to the extent of the precinctâs resources.â He sounded more confident than he felt.Â
Red Hood chuckled and after a moment he dropped the gun to his side. âStill...Iâm not sure if itâs incredible daring or stupidity that brought you here tonight.âÂ
âAs soon as I catch wind of a lead Iâm going to chase after it,â Tim huffed narrowing his eyes. He searched the red mask, wishing he could see what kind of expression the man beneath was making.Â
âPity you canât tell a real lead from a fake one.âÂ
Tim felt his world turn upside down. âWhat?â he blurted.Â
âMy gang isnât up to anything tonight. I just wanted to see if I could drag you out here and it looks like it worked,â he continued.Â
âBecause I want some answers from you.âÂ
Tim frowned, noticing a second too late that the Red Hood was raising his hand. He brought down the gun quickly against the side of Timâs head, sending him to the ground.Â
Tim groaned, his head throbbing. He tried to bring up a hand to rub the sleep from his eyes, but found he couldnât move.Â
âDonât bother struggling. I tied them myself. Youâre not going to be getting out of those bindings anytime soon.âÂ
Timâs head snapped up and he found the Red Hood sitting in a chair across from. He was missing the leather jacket he usually donned and Tim was painfully aware of how tightly fitting his armor was.Â
âWhere the hell am I?â Tim asked. looking around the bare room.Â
âSomewhere we wonât be interrupted.âÂ
âWhy did you need to bring me here?âÂ
âLike I said, I want some answers. Why have you been pursuing me? You donât have the backing of the precinct. Youâre moving on your own. What did you think you were going to accomplish if you ever got close to me?âÂ
Tim tried to shrug, but knew it was lopsided since he couldnât move his hands.Â
The Red Hood sighed and pushed himself to his feet. He walked forward and gripped Timâs chin in his fingers.Â
âWhat do you want?â he growled.Â
âYou remind me of someone,â Tim blurted.Â
âWhat?â he asked, sounding more confused than Tim thought was possible.Â
Tim swallowed. âYou remind me of someone. Itâs not just that youâre a gang leader involved in highly illegal activities, but you remind me of someone. You couldâve shot me in the alley when you caught me sneaking around but you didnât.âÂ
âSo, you just decided to follow me because I remind you of someone. Again, what were you planning to do once you caught me?âÂ
Tim winced. âI donât know. I hadnât thought that far ahead...âÂ
âOh my god, youâre such a fucking idiot,â he muttered, releasing Timâs chin.Â
His tone held a note of familiarity that Tim wasnât expecting. âSo,â he sighed, taking his seat again. âWho do I remind you of?âÂ
Tim felt his face heat up and looked away even though he couldnât see the manâs eyes. âA boy I knew as a kid. I lost contact with him. I donât even know if heâs still in Gotham. Hell, he might not even be alive anymore.âÂ
âA street rat? A street rat influenced you that much?â he scoffed.Â
âHeâs not a street rat!â Tim protested. âOr maybe he is. I donât know. Fuck, I donât care if he is. The fact is that Jason is someone Iâll never forget.âÂ
âWhat, are you going to tell me you have someone named Jason in your gang?â Tim sneered.Â
âSomething like that.âÂ
Tim paused, unsure where to go from there.Â
âIs that it?â he finally asked. âCan you let me go now?âÂ
âNo, I donât think so.âÂ
âWhy not? Do you have some other question for me?âÂ
Tim watched, confused as the Red Hood brought his hands up to his helmet. He heard the click of latches and watched as the helmet was tugged off.Â
Tim swore he still had to be dreaming.Â
âHi Tim,â Jason said, meeting his eyes. âItâs been a while.âÂ
