my take on a no (prevented) sburb au + fef wins au. through her close friendship with sollux and karkat she eventually grew out of the "culling = caring 38)" idea bc. both of them pointed out it would end up being fucking awful and well. an abuse of rights. shes still a progressive empress tho.

she ends up taking karkat as her advisor and gamzee as an official-unofficial guard, saving them both from culling. she considers them her dearest friends (though gamzee is. Beginning to. Piss Her Off (hatemance <333<)). they are both scared and Deeply grateful towards her. feelings slowly become less fraught with time. but its messy.

nepeta and equius were the only ones we ever saw doing this in main series homestuck. who knows if that was because their relationship was arguably the most stable of the beta trolls, but we’ve just taken that to mean “moirails just do this all the time”. that very well could’ve just been something they liked doing together! nepeta could’ve decided to sleep atop a bunch of equius’s scrapped robots on the meteor and they just went with that as their chill place.

When one person aggressively pursues Kismessitude with someone so far out of their league and so uninterested in Kismesis with them that they effectively serve as a Moirail. The pitch side of the relationship vents their rage impotently, reducing their potential for harm, while the pale side doesn't see any need to retaliate.

This can be surprisingly stable as long as the levels of power and aggression stay consistent. If the relative power levels change, this could shift into a more traditional Kismessitude, Moiraillegience, or, rarely, Matespiritship. However, should the relative aggression levels equalize, it rarely ends well for the would-be Kismesis. Likely the only way for them to survive would be the intervention of an Auspistice.
