Working together seemed like the smartest move. We'll... with the Multiverse in the state it was in, at least-- destruction, negativity, Desire outbreaks, wayward pirates, rouge colonists, and lost outcodes run amuck. Ink would lend his vast knowledge, and Dream would be the beacon of hope and leadership he was always meant to be.

Thus, the Stars were born.

Ink hadn't meant to stay for long; A story was a story: it would, inevitably, run its course. It didn't matter. He did not, and could not, care.

Dream knew that convenience was the only reason for their friendship-- it was meant to end eventually, as all would return to balance. It is how it is. It is how it would be.
