I hate restaurants where I can’t avoid looking at the owners’ photos of their babies on the wall behind the cash register. I’m sick of banners proclaiming IT’S A BOY/GIRL! in people’s lawns. I’m fed up with KDKA-TV’s series of commercials on infertility treatments. When was the last time you brought snapshots of your best friend to work to show your co-workers how cool they look. How many times have you shown photos of your love to a stranger seated next to you on the bus?! When has anyone who call themselves “PRO-FAMILY” ever endorsed OUR families?!!!!!

In every step of my life, I've become less of a man. Less of man - this is not a mistake. There are so many things that make a man, and it seems I have spent my life getting away from them. This process of getting away, of becoming less of a man, is one that I have never needed, or managed, to recognize as such - somehow things just happened. It is only recently that I have interpreted my life in terms of this process, as I have made yet another step, yet another change that has brought a new perspective - one that has, for the first time, been worrying me.
