Trump Weird News - Solution Without Problem
Tortured Prisioners During Obama Administration
The Obama administrationâs relationship with prisoner torture was defined by an official ban on the practice combined with a controversial refusal to prosecute those who conducted it during the preceding Bush administration.Â
Official Policy and Ban
Executive Order 13492: Upon taking office in January 2009, President Obama issued an executive order that officially banned "enhanced interrogation techniques" (such as waterboarding), which he explicitly characterized as torture.
Codification:Â In 2015, the U.S. Senate codified this ban into law, mandating that all interrogations follow the Army Field Manual.Â
Key Controversies and Allegations
Despite the official ban, the administration faced significant criticism for several policies:Â
Lack of Prosecution: The Obama Justice Department chose not to bring criminal charges against any officials involved in the prior torture programs. Human rights groups criticized this as granting "final immunity" to those who broke international law.
Indefinite Detention: While Obama attempted to close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, congressional opposition prevented its closure. Critics argued that maintaining indefinite detention without trial caused severe psychological trauma equivalent to abuse.
Rendition Loophole: The administration permitted the continued use of extraordinary renditionâtransferring suspects to other countries for interrogationâprovided there were "diplomatic assurances" against torture, which critics called a loophole.
Specific Cases:
Naji Hamdan:Â A U.S. citizen who alleged he was severely tortured in the UAE with the involvement of American agents during the Obama administration.
Iraqi Detainees:Â The administration was criticized for handing over prisoners to Iraqi authorities despite documented reports of widespread torture in Iraqi facilities.
Prisoner Photos:Â Obama reversed an initial decision to release 2,000 photos showing prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib, citing concerns that they would inflame anti-American sentiment and endanger troops.Â
"We Tortured Some Folks"
In August 2014, Obama famously stated, "We tortured some folks", referring to the CIA's post-9/11 interrogation program.
This admission was linked to the release of the Senate Intelligence Committee report on CIA torture, which detailed brutal practices far more extensive than previously acknowledged.Â
preview of Modus Operandi Chapter 4
He looked up into...oh...thank the Valar...Annatar's handsome face. He sighed in relief as Annatar smiled warmly back at him before taking a seat on the bench next to him.
Annatar placed his hand around Celebrimbor's shoulder and asked with a teasing lilt,âTyelpe...did you miss me?â
Of course he did. Of course he missed his dearest friend Annatar, and he was so happy he came back.
Tyelpe felt that familiar warmth once again travel through his body toward his chest and he nodded eagerly as a response to Annatar's question.
Annatar seemed to smile knowingly, as if he had known Tyelpe would be so happy to have his dearest friend back by his side.
âI have a surprise for you TyelpeâŠâ, Annatar teased softly.
Tyelpe could barely contain his excitement. Another gift for me?, he thought. Annatar is so nice to think of me while he was gone...and so kind to give me another gift.
Annatar then removed his hand from Tyelpe's shoulder, and placed both of his warm, soft hands into Tyelpe's, giving them a gentle and affectionate squeeze.
âI think you'll like this surprise a lot. It was difficult to acquire for you but I know you'll love it. But, it is located inside your personal workshop. I made sure to wrap it up nicely too, Tyelpeâ., Annatar said pleasantly and softly, almost whispering.
Tyelpe smiled broadly in response.
âShall we go then, Tyelpe? I can tell you're very excitedâ, Annatar teased again.
He took Tyelpe's hand in his and gently dragged him to his feet. The both of them walked together, hand in hand through the courtyard.
Tyelpe sighed dreamily as Annatar gently led him under the vast golden canopy, the light landing perfectly on his long golden hair, giving him the appearance of having hair woven from delicate strands of forged metal.
The ring on his finger pulsed gently, and another shudder of warmth flooded his senses. Tyelpe wanted nothing more than to be walking underneath the trees with Annatar for eternity. Perhaps they could, once they both sailed across the Sundering Seas toward the Blessed Realm of Valinor.
Tyelpe's heart started to beat faster at the notion, which seemed to please Annatar. Of course it made him happy, he loves seeing his dearest friend happy., the ring reminded him.
Beware of Scam Bots
TL;DR: @craftpatch is a scam bot. Report and ignore if she ever comes to you. In fact, even if she doesn't come to you, just report her right now.
Legitimate art commissioners are hard to come by for small artists like me. Scam bots aren't new to me, but I like to talk about my experiences when any pass by my radar long enough for me to see their modus operandi first hand. @craftpatch commented on one of my commissioned works a few days ago, asking if she could get one of her own. đ©First red flag: She couldn't initiate private messages even though my inbox is open, so she asked me to send her one first.đ©
I did a very quick skim of her blog. A few scrolls told me she was probably okay. She had some art and even answered some asks. I messaged her, giving her the benefit of the doubt since I haven't had any customers in a while. She asked me about my commissions and pricing. đ©Second red flag: She asked me about my prices even though I already gave her a link to that in our conversations in the comments.đ© I talked about what I offer and gave her the link again, asking what she wanted so I could give her a price quote. đ©Third red flag: Her next reply had nothing to do with the current conversation.đ© She started talking about payment options without acknowledging my reply to her question.
I did a proper sweep of her blog this time, now actually taking the time to look at her tags and notes. đ©Fourth red flag: Her tags had nothing to do with the art being displayed. Some even included the AI tag.đ©đ©Fifth red flag: Her very first post was made on the 13th of November, 2024, only a few days before she first commented on my artwork.đ© And here's the đ©nail in the coffin: She commented on her own post, asking if she does commissions.đ€Šââïžđ©
I said my last piece, reported, and blocked.
In conclusion, please watch out for the red flags I listed and stay safe. Mayhaps give me a helping hand and report @craftpatch as well. I wouldn't say no to anyone messaging me if you're a real person that wants a commission either.

Photek - The Hidden Camera (Modus Operandi, 1997)
FIVE SONGS for your muse.
i. Love Me Dead - Ludo: She moves through moonbeams slowly. She knows just how to hold me. And when her edges soften, Her body is my coffin. I know she drains me slowly. She wears me down to bones in bed. Must be the sign on my head, That says, oh Love me dead! Love me dead!
ii. This Is Not An Exit - Duncan Sheik: Maybe this schism, is just a symptom, Of late capitalism. A Savior's died and risen, Of worlds that wouldn't listen, To their own collapse. Even if this story, Is overwrought and gory, It's not a fable, it's not an allegory. No cautionary tale, no memento mori. Or a vague perhaps.
iii. I Would Die 4 U - Prince: I'm not a woman, I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand. I'll never beat you, I'll never lie. And if you're evil, I'll forgive you by and by. 'Cause you, I would die for you, yeah. Darlin', if you want me to, you, I would die for you. I'm not your lover, I'm not your friend. I am something that you'll never comprehend. No need to worry, no need to cry. I'm your Messiah and you're the reason why.
iv. Shake the Disease - Depeche Mode: Some people have to be permanently together, Lovers devoted to each other forever. Now I've got things to do, and I've said before, That I know you have too. When I'm not there, In spirit I'll be there. Here is a plea from my heart to you, Nobody knows me as well as you do. You know how hard it is for me to shake the disease, That takes hold of my tongue in situations like these. Understand me.
v. As It Was - Hozier: And in a few days, I would be there, love. Whatever here that's left of me is yours just as it was. Just as it was, baby. Before the otherness came. And I knew its name. The love, the dark, the light, the flame. The eyes at the heights of my baby. Let's hope at the fight of my baby. The lights were as bright as my baby, But your love was unmoved. And tell me if somehow, some of it remained. How long you would wait for me? How long I've been away? The shape that I'm in now, is shaping the doorway. Make your good love known to me. Just tell me about your day. Just as it was, baby. Before the otherness came. And I knew its name. The drugs, the dark, the light, the shame.

Itâs 2:40 in the morning. I canât sleep. Have the beginning of MO⊠in prose form.
February. The office of Emperor Steven Lee Crossroads XXXIX, whose full title we wonât trouble ourselves with right now. A young man named Bob leaned all his spindly weight on the double doors into his fatherâs office. Bob - The Crown Prince - had an important development to discuss.
Light flooded the doorway. Bob held a practiced forearm to his eyes, squinting. The back wall of the office was nothing but windows, which sounds nice but existed mostly to intimidate visitors by blinding the shit out of them. The windows had curtains, and the Emperor had functional arms and legs, but for reasons clear to nobody he often blinded visitors he had no apparent desire to intimidate. His son was no exception. Bob made his barely-seeing way to his fatherâs desk.
âFather.â He cleared his throat.
