Module 05 (cont.)
Module 05 was verh challenging for me becaus my camera is new. Though I knew a good bit about shutter speeds and aperture, I did not know as much as I thought I had. It is nice to know that there is always something left for you to learn. Though I firmly knew that I did not know everything about photography, I was able to understand a lot of new concepts that dealt with things I thought I had under my belt. When it came to taking the photos, though, I knew I was going to struggle. I did just that. I took close to 80 photographs during my photo shoot; however, the five I uploaded are the only ones that turned out relatively good. I had a prolonged issue with figuring out how to chanhe both shutter speed and ISO separately. In manual mode on my camera, when the shutter speed is changed, the ISO changes to match said speed. While that helped in a few cases, most of the images I tried taking of frozen movement came out so dark that the movement was lost in darkness. After hours of standing outside at night fighting my camera, I called it quits for the night and researched how to fix this issue. When I researched how to change shutter speed and ISO separately for my specific camera (Sony a6000), I learned I was not the only one with this issue; however, I also did not find the answer. This led me to taking more time to test out different methods of taking a photo that would appear too dark due to the ISO. After a long night of trying to figure out how my camera functioned, I figured out how to change them separately. Though I was only able to take a few photos, struggling through that obstable helped me with later work, and I have been able to learn other quirky behaviors my camera has.
