Similar to the way human children will suck their thumb for comfort, young inphernals really really like bashing their horns into things.
It's sort of just instinct for them, especially if it's something soft or cushy, they just wanna ram right into it.
It is a little different, since they're already fully able to walk and talk, and they have some awareness of their own urges, so it's a bit easier for them to quit doing it.
And, similar to how some adults continue to struggle to quit thumb-sucking, some inphernals have a lot of trouble trying to stop ramming into stuff.
SO HERE'S MY HEADCANONSSSSS
Ban Hammer - Ban Hammer was such a tough rammer, Windforce made him wear horn protectors so he'd stop breaking shit, and he looked so nerdy in them that he finally learned his lesson and quit doing it.
Katana - Katana was kind of a fucking menace as a kid. He would ONLY bash into things he knew were important, like a cat with a glass of water off a ledge (just another thing for Hyperlaser to compare to Princess....)
Sword - Sword liked bashing into things but he felt sooooooo embarrassed about it, so he would go in his room and bop his head against the wall really quietly so Venom wouldn't hear, cause he was too embarrassed to let Venom see him do it.
Skateboard - Skate enjoys bashing things TO THIS DAY! I'm pretty sure it's literally one of his moves. He is UNASHAMED! His apartment is uh..... Not in the greatest condition though
Rocket - Rocket really really wants to quit, but it's become a habit he simply cannot stop. He must mash into every surface possible, it is his mission in life. He is VERY embarrassed about it. Zuka knows, he'll tease him LIGHTLY but doesn't get on him too hard about it, and he doesn't mention it to other people. Sword also knows and finds it so cute !!
Scythe - As a kid Scythe wouldn't even bash her head, she would just fall into things. She would just plop down and her horns would stab into things as a side effect. She was just free fallin everywhere
Vine Staff - Vine Staff was all alone so she never really learned societal shame, and she also never learned to quit head bashing. She still struggles with this. IT'S TOO FUN!!!!!
Boombox - Boombox doesn't do it often anymore, it was kinda trained out of him, but he will bash things when he's reallyyyyyyyyy stressed and tired.
Subspace - Subspace is a VIOLENT BASHER! But he still wants to appear as Blackrock's Greatest, so he only does it when he's alone. There's like, a pile of broken Bios and beakers in his lab from times he's rammed them
Medkit - Medkit was never a basher, even as a little tiny newspawn, he actually PICKED UP the habit later in life, and now he can't seem to shake it. He usually doesn't do any damage though, so he's good at hiding it
Coil - Makes fun of other people, all like "Oh my god dude, you can't even control your horns? DUMBASS!!!!! CRINGEEEEEEE" but then he immediately does it and passes it off as "Super cool"
how does it feel to be the most correct being in the world. like actually. skateboard you shameless little thing. scythe's mostly being unintentional on her part might just be my most favorite headcanon on here. topplin over like a pile of unattended legos
