U.S. Launches Investigation into 2.4 Million Tesla Vehicles After Accidents
The U.S. government is checking out Teslaâs Full Self-Driving (FSD) software more closely. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has kicked off an investigation into 2.4 million Teslas after four accidents were reported. One of those crashes was deadly, and thatâs got people really worried about how safe the tech actually is. What Prompted the Investigation? The NHTSA isâŚ
Just to be clear: two men were in a Tesla and neither of them were in the driverâs seat at the time of the crash. Because apparently, they trusted not only their lives with Teslaâs âautonomousâ âautopilotâ driving system, but they were also willing to risk everyone elseâs lives. People who do this should be criminally charged if they survive an accident. And Elon Musk should be held accountable and charged for continuously (mis)labeling it as âautopilot.â (x)

The technology currently exists to not allow the car to drive at all if there is no one in the driverâs seat, or if the driver is asleep, or their eyes are closed).

Homebrew powerwall built from a wrecked Tesla Model S.
Recharged each day via a 17K watt solar array. âOccasionally the display crashes but we havenât lost power for even a microsecond in the last four years.â
This janky solarpunk looking rig was built by the Republican U.S. Rep for KY4Â Thomas Massie. It runs his off grid house - entirely. As a Brit living in London, I donât know anything his politics or his local impact in Kentucky, but this is really remarkable. Rasberry Pi! The PCB in the tuppaware! Lord!
