Hey, everyone. It’s Rex/Relix here. We’ve had some messages asking about the state of this year’s Minecraft server.

I’m sorry to say that this year, due to time and financial restraints, we won’t be able to host a Minecraft Yogmas celebration this December. I’m really disappointed that we aren’t able to do this, and I’m sure a lot of you were just as excited for the 5th year server as I was. 

However, I know a lot of you would still like to celebrate together, so if other hosts come forward and would like to host a Minecraft server (or other games!) for fellow Yogscast fans and the Yogmas community in particular, our Discord server would be a great place to do that. I’ll post a link to our Discord server soon if anyone is interested! I’ll still be around to chat with you all and will try to join any games I can when I have time!

Again, I’m sorry about this situation and I’m really sorry for everyone who has been waiting for an update. But I want to sincerely thank everyone who has participated in the Yogmas servers the last four years. We all had great times with some sincerely amazing people over the years. If it weren’t for the Yogscast charity streams, we mods wouldn’t have met, and they’ll always have a special place in my heart for that reason.

to answer your first question: yes, anyone is allowed on the server! we make it specifically for our followers, but if you’d like to bring friends along we certainly don’t mind! our only request is that all players who access the server must read the rules (which we’ll post when the server is ready for you all to join) and abide by them! we’re a pretty casual and laid-back group for the most part, so we just want everyone to have as much fun as possible!

which brings me to your second question: on december 1st, we’ll post the rules for our server. that post will contain the server’s IP address that you’ll use to access it. it’s a vanilla server with server-side plugins, so no downloading of mods or plugins will be necessary on your part! we do, however, ask that if possible you download the latest version of the sphax xmasbdcraft resource pack. that’s the resource pack that we use when building minigames and other useful buildings for our server, so if you’re not using it some things may not look right (and you may see a lot of stairs in really weird places)!
