What I like about animal hospital is that the way the story is set up is very accurate to the corruption of the healthcare system (in America and Canada at least, and I know what you're about to say about Canada having free healthcare but free healthcare is the bare fucking minimum. Ok? ok.)
The hospital is owned by a corporation so powerful that it is practically the government
patients aren't treated correctly
the work conditions are horrible
the stress of the environment is so draining that they just let some patients who could've been saved die because of how crammed they are(medical negligence)
medical malpractice being brushed under the rug for the sake of money (Dr. Harlow's experiments)
patients in need of medical help being forced to wait for hours
discrimination(yes, I know the anomalies are harmful but that is because no one is even trying to help them or even try to figure out how to treat them, it feels like an allegory for people with mental illnesses.)
the hospital is understaffed
the staff work hours on end with zero breaks.
staff dying on the job due to overworking.
and if the anomaly intern theory is correct, specifically the one where dr. Harlow made them into one; Not only medical malpractice, also torture and assault.
All of these things happen in real life and very commonly. Medical trauma comes in many different ways and I feel like animal hospital somehow sums it all up pretty well. Especially with the quotes like "no one will know..." when you throw out a patient, and that conversation you have with Dr. Harlow where he talks about the exhaustion of this job. The patients talking about their turmoil and malaise as they walk through the hospital to their room or wait for their turn to be treated.
As you can see, it's really fucked up when you look into it.

・When demons lose a romantic partner that they loved dearly, they are given 3 chances to talk to them one last time, and then their partners soul moves on! They don't get to pick the times though.... That's mainly a headcanon I have for Solstice but u can use this one. It's basically ment to help them grieve and move on with their lives. It doesn't make it hurt less though..... So basically the next post will be Solstices last time actually seeing her husband. Even though canonically it did happen a few weeks before garden view.. I'm doing this for the angst potential.
