I miss Leelah. Even though I didnāt know her until after her death, mourning brought life to her. It hurts that nobody talks about her anymore, like a leaf on the wind.
I wish I could do more. I wish I had done more. I still wonder what Carla and Doug are thinking. Do they care? Do they know they were wrong? ... are Leelahās siblings okay? Most of all, itās tough just knowing that I was the one that found her suicide note, with less than five notes, searched up her name, and got busy telling everyone I could find, and yet nodody knows I exist. What hurts the most was that I was looking up suicide notes that night because I was wondering how Iād write mine, and nobody asked if I was okay. I wasnāt okay that night, and neither was Leelah. But sheās okay now. And Iām not. Itās sad. I hope she still lives on inside of us. -Emrys
i'm so close to suicide but if i go to the hospital my parents will be very mad at me. and don't tell me they won't, because they have punished me before when i have went to the hospital and accused me of ruining the family. i'm nonbinary but no one respects that.
How old are you? Your parents donāt need to be told why youāre there. Can you make up a story about being worried about some sort of pain? Chest pain can be urgent, maybe while they are out, you can go, and you could say you thought you were having a heart attack but it was severe indigestion. Geez, I donāt know.Otherwise, can you call Lifeline? I donāt know where you are from but the US and Australia both have different suicide hotlines called lifeline. They can help. Otherwise, chat to a friend. Tell them how you feel, make sure you have someone to check on you. Please stay with us.I would also encourage for you to try and get away from them depending on your age. I moved out at 16 due to abuse.-Emrys
I'm so sorry if I sent the same fan mail over and over again. I'm on tumblr mobile and it sucks. -Val
You didnāt.
Hello! My name is Val and I want to ask you something. I have to send you fan mail becuae my ask is too long.In my art class, my art teacher entered everyone into a National Congretional Art Contest. And the theme is āA Key Opens..ā We have to make art about our inspriation in life and a moment that was a key in our lives. And with all the tragic events this recent year with poilce burtality and Leelahās passing. I decided to base my art on the ones we lost this year: Mike Brown, Deah Shaddy Barakat, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, Leelah Alcorn, and Jesse Hernandez. My theme will be āA Key Opens to Hope.ā With the movement for those who were innocent (like I mentioned above) they gave us hope for a better equality fututre..And my question is. Will it be alright for me to draw leelah in my art work? And if so, what hair style does she prefer. I want to draw her how she always wanted to be. I know she wanted long hair..but Iām asking because I want her to be on point..Im really sorry if this was long and if I dragged everything out but I wanted you to understand. If you want, I can post the art works on my tumblr. I just wanted you to know that Leelah, is my inspiration. She is the key that opened hope to everyone. May she rest in power and Iām so happy for her victory. Thank you so much for listening.
Iām proud of you for picking such a strong topic. If itās respectful I canāt see why you couldnāt draw Leelah for it.This is the reference of the hairstyle she said she wanted, I believe it was posted from her reddit account.Weād love to see and share it when youāre finished - just give us a reminder.

i just wanna tell you that im using your blog as a source for my research paper about the lack of transgender acceptance, because it is so insightful, and im also using leelah's blog, im a cisgender senior in high school and my best friend and i decided to do the topic as our paper and your blog has been a huge help, and i just wanted to tell you that. thank you so much!
Hey, Iām really glad weāve helped you! Donāt forget though to cite original authors of posts. We are a good source to find loads of reblogs, but not every post is ours and we donāt entirely deserve the credit. Same with Leelahās reblogs, but it could be said that her choice of reblogs hinted at her mental state.-Emrys

I have an honest question. As someone who is not trans, I don't understand everything so can you please tell me if a trans man pre op's chest has to be censored or if a pre op trans woman's? Because the first is technically a man's and the second's is technically a woman's. (Does that make sense?) I don't mean to be offensive if I am. I'm genuinely curious about it.
Interesting question, thank you. Unfortunately Iād think that if would be the same if they were cis. Youāre entirely right that a trans male is a male, but with censorship, theyād see a breast, whether a cis breast or a trans maleās breast, and theyād flip their shit and censor it. Whereas for a transwoman - they donāt need an operation to have breasts, just hormones. but if they are pre-hormones, thereās no breast to censor, so probably not. It has no logic, I know, but they censor depending on what they look like.-Emrys
I'm pretty confused on my sexuality. I've always had big crushes on girls. I basically know I'm a lesbian, expect for the fact that I'm developing really strong feeling for this boy. Idk what to do because I'm just confused. Could you guys possible help?
Well, you could be bisexual? I mean, lots of bi people donāt realise they like the same sex until later in life, you could be similar but with the opposite sex?As well as that you didnāt define crush so you might be homosexual/biromantic or bisexual/homoromantic.Itās normal for sexuality to fluctuate a bit through the course of your lifetime, and itās okay to be confused.I personally donāt pin down my sexuality with a word at all because I just donāt have the effort to detangle it all.You donāt need to stick to labels - if you like someone, you like them, go for it. c:-Emrys
It's disturbing that every mod on this blog expects a handout. Really questions the integrity of this blog and why it was started. Perhaps to cash in on this tragedy yourselves?
We endevour to help all trans people, particularly young people, so that they do not end up in a position like Leelah or Zander.Whatever they need, we will help provide it, whether it be sharing a GoFundMe or a petition, or giving advice. Our sole role here is to honor Leelah and help trans teens in her name.We share many GoFundMes for people from all areas, backgrounds, or reasons. We put our heart and soul into this blog and treat you all the way the world should be treated. The fact of the matter is, no matter how hard we push and be selfless, we have our own issues. We are also trans teens that need help, just like those you are supporting. We are equal to the trans people whoās GoFundMes we share, we deserve equal opportunity to ask for help. I assure you if ANYONE messaged us asking us to post theirs they would get theirs posted, just the same.I refuse to take hate because I reached out for help. I needed help. Iāve always been afraid to ask for help, Iāve always suffered. I ask one small favor and this is what I get. I donāt deserve this. I have put so much effort into all this, drained so much of my life.If you think Iām just someone who made a blog to ask for money you are wrong. I was the one that reported Leelahās true identity to news and police though Max and another friend. I was the reason you even know her name.Jericho is no longer a mod. He has not been for a while. Itās not a āmodās GoFundMeā and youāre thinking too linear if thatās what you believe. He is a trans person that needs help, and asked for help.We will not be answering any more questions on this matter.
