I’m just going off the logic that having to face your sins daily (going off the purgatory interpretation) has to be very emotionally taxing for him and even with all of his spiritual healing, he’s still being put through the wringer. He’s 100% locked in during runs but it takes very little for him to start blubbering when he’s in the lobby (not infantilising him here, he’s still able to help around the lobby but he might get a bit teary-eyed when doing his chores)

He needs some milk 👍

Seesay's eye-mouth kinda acts like a hoodie, so if it's winter, it stays closed more often, but if it's summer or spring, it stays open more often.

One part of this is gender. When you arrive you can be put on a spectrum of body types, these being masc-neuter-fem. Your mental and spiritual gender usually match up, so it isn’t too much of a change for most sinners. In most cases of trans sinners this is seen as a gift! But being given eg a neuter body despite identifying as male/female doesn’t immediately make you nb, it could just be that you don’t care that much for conforming to masculinity/femininity.

In my hc, John is a true neuter, so he has a sort of boxy torso and a face that’s too narrow to be masc, but too angular to be fem. Basically androgyny. Shepherd is a soft-masc, so he has slightly broader shoulders than a true neuter, but is otherwise facially androgynous.

Also everything ‘down there’ is removed so sinners can focus on repenting instead of *ahem* creating new souls. No dih, no balls, and probably no butthole since these guys feed on radiation /ref type shit
