I don't understand why you guys are comparing Shuumiko to Mochizou x Tamako. Mochizou's feelings were always hinted at and present in the entire anime and then they were fully portrayed in the movie adaptation. Tamako was always oblivious but throughout the movie she realizes she loves him too with the help of her friends. In Hibike! Euphonium, I ship Shuumiko (and Reimiko), but I do feel Shuuichi's feelings randomly came out in an episode instead of them being hinted at since the beginning of the anime. Shuumiko is nothing like MochiTama, except for the fact they were 'childhood friends'. MochiTama had a lot more basis and their friendship gradually grew into romance, which KyoAni did a good job on (I just hate how they handled Midori's feelings, tbh, but what can you do?) So I'm honestly hoping if there were to be any ship that becomes canon in Hibike, then please be Reimiko. Kumiko and Reina's relationship gradually grew, just like Mochizou and Tamako's.

The film was actually very well made??? Like the way it gets points across without relying entirely on dialogue and how it created moods through "camera work" (like how the scene was framed and stuff). and it was witty and cute and it warmed my heart
honestly I thought it was a really good movie. Obviously not like best movie ever, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Pleasant surprise since Tamako Market wasn't, in my opinion, one of Kyoto Animation's best works.
TL;DR, KYOTO ANIMATION IS GOD
