so first i gotta define what sunstar even is. in gigamix the stardroids are all endowed with Hyper Energy Crystals, which are said to be doorways to a dimension of infinite energy (let's call this the Hyper Energy Dimension for simplicity's sake). The Hyper Energy Crystals also react strongly to a person's consciousness, will, and memories, which makes me believe whatever energy fills the Hyper Energy Dimension is also deeply connected to these things. sunstar is a drop in that sea of eldritch energy that swarmed around the stardroids each time they opened the "door", and through their continuous interactions with him, became concentrated enough to become defined as "sunstar." sunstar doesn't actually exist in the physical universe beyond the tiny fractions of his power the stardroids utilize, and mostly just appears in their dreams. (though the stardroids have been trying to summon him into reality for a long time...)

sunstar IS his own “person,” though. he is simply consciousness centralized, thanks to long-term interactions with the stardroids. he's not like… idk, shadow man, who existed in limbo before gradually shifting into consciousness. sunstar was always something, was always experiencing, being part of an ancient well of consciousness. so being exposed to the foreign experiences of the stardroids was a source of amazing curiosity for him, and as he devoured every detail of their souls, he quickly grew to love them infinitely. he developed into his new form around them (influenced by their memories of their original civilization's mythologies) with great enthusiasm.

the stardroids have long interpreted sunstar as their god, and sunstar, too, defines himself as their god. and as their god, he wants what's best for his subjects! however, he’s acting on limited information. just as the Hyper Energy Crystals create a doorway to the Hyper Energy Dimension for the stardroids, the stardroids create a doorway to the universe for sunstar. so sunstar’s understanding of the universe is limited to the stardroids' (mostly terra's) experiences. which is. a biased sample to say the least.

sunstar is a relentlessly positive force by nature, being made of infinite energy and all. he loves his stardroids unconditionally because he has become their god, and they are his subjects. he has met them and allowed them to define him; he needs no other reason. if the stardroids wish to fulfill their ambitions, if those ambitions mean the destruction of countless lives, then sunstar will cheer them on, because those are their ambitions. sunstar does not judge the contents of those ambitions, only that they are the ambitions of his subjects, and so they are Good. as their god, he wants to see their wishes fulfilled. if his subjects magically flipped worldviews, sunstar wouldn’t need to flip his, because he was already on their side. the stardroids, though, are not capable of accepting such a god, even if some violently repressed part of them may desire it. so in sunstar they see an ideal they can accept seeing — the doomsday weapon of highest expectation, the pinnacle of destiny, the greatest honor.
