Sweetpea was shocked and heartbroken. Their mind was racing and their hooves made them run away as fast as they could. They should have known. It was dumb to think they were actually friends with them. That they could trust them. That Flim would actually like them. It was foolish to think that they were anything more then a pawn to them.

After a good bit of crying and wallowing in self pity, Sweetpea decides to clear their head and leave Las Pegasus. At least for a little while. They transform into a form they haven't used in a good minute, and go for a night flight as Midnight, Midnight Nightowl. They haven't flown for a while but flying among the stars never fails to make them forget about their worries for a moment.

Sweetpea spends the next few days avoiding work with sick days. Thinking about facing the twins again makes them sick to their stomach. So to get their mind off things, during the night they go out as Midnight to fly. As Midnight they also find themself at parties and events to fill their time.

They were invited to an event that was particularly fancy so they dressed up. Unfortunately the event itself was terribly dull and they spent most of their time there at the snack table. That's where they were approached by a incredibly fashionable and beautiful white unicorn.

The unicorn introduced herself as Rarity, and insisted that Midnight must model for her at once. Their look was perfect for her latest line of more masculine fashions. Midnight was taken a back. They didn't expect to be talking to such a dazzling pony, much less to be offered a job by her. After a moment to collect their words, Midnight admits that they don't know the first thing modelling. Rarity brushes this off and insists that they'll do perfectly. After a little more convincing, Midnight accepts her offer. Rarity's overjoyed at this news, and gives all details of where and when they should meet for the fittings and whatnot.

At the first fitting, it's just Midnight and Rarity and after the initial nervousness on Midnight's part, the two have a good time together. Midnight really enjoys Rarity's company. Her passion for life and art was infectious. They really admire how she's not afraid to speak her mind. The two talk during the fittings and become good friends.

After taking time for themself, Midnight turns back into Sweetpea and decides to go back to the resort. They weren't sure what to expect, but they assumed they didn't have a job there anymore. They made sure to let the necessary ponies know that they weren't coming in, but not showing up for weeks in a row isn't the best move. Not that they really wanted to work there anymore anyway.

Sweetpea shyly moved across the halls of the resort and checked in with their other coworker friends. Sweetpea's been updating them all through out their crush and heartbreak with Flim. The two even brought Sweetpea to some bars a couple of times to karaoke out all their frustrations. They all do a little bit of lighthearted catching up.

The two then have to get back to practicing their routine, so Sweetpea is left to themself again. Chrysalis/Crackle Cosette then nervously approaches them, which is unlike her. She didn't act nervous for long as she confidently states that she's glad that Sweetpea's back and nothing bad seems to have befallen them. It would make sense for Sweetpea to be at least a little upset with Chrysalis for reinforcing their anxieties and being the reason they spent the last few weeks in a mental downwards spiral. But Sweetpea holds no ill will towards her. They figured out a while ago who she actually was. Since a lot of her manipulation attempts revolved around vague changeling metaphors and how she's the only one they'd ever need as their Queen. Since they knew this was what to expect from her, it was hard to take her too seriously.

And then Sweetpea is reunited with the twins, much to their dismay. Sweeptea's opinion of the twins has gone sour to say the least. What they once found charming has turned to seeing nothing but actions full of hubris and arrogance. This contempt for them made things a little awkward as the two were happy and relieved to see Sweetpea again.

Flam expresses this relief and authentically asks how they've been and what they've been up to. That's his friend. He's been concerned for them. Sweetpea appreciates this and basically forgives him immediately. He wasn't the one that they were mad at.

Flim then conceited jokes something related to Sweetpea's absence, that was meant to be lighthearted and charming but also completely throws them under the bus. In the past this would have been met with a chuckle or playful jab from Sweetpea. But this time Flim was met with nothing but a cold glare from them.

This made his heart sank, but he quickly tries to brush it off. Flim nervously stammers another attempt at a joke do damage control, but that one also doesn't land. From Flim's perspective his crush vanished completely for weeks. And when he finally sees them again, they seem to want nothing to do with him. Clearly something has happened.

Sweetpea speaks up and says how they know the twins are conmen and all but they'd appreciate it the two would at least try to be sincere around them. Sweetpea isn't in the mood for jokes or charms. Especially if there's no meaning behind them.

This shell shocks Flim to his core and renders him speechless. Sweetpea pays him no mind as they say goodbye to Flam, who is shocked himself. They then leave the twins to themselves. In the past Sweetpea would have melted at the thought of treating Flim so cruelly. But at this point they've really stopped caring.

Flam is now on damage control duty because what was that.

He goes between consoling his brother, and going to Sweetpea to find out what happened. Flam's their friend and Flim is his brother and he doesn't want any bad blood between them. But he doesn't doubt that this is somehow Flim's fault. I get to bully Flim a little bit, as a treat

I call this the “Flim’s a wet cat" phase. Where Flim’s incredibly sad and dramatic and has big dewey wet eyes. And he's all useless and does nothing but feel sorry for himself. Gah, I love pathetic men.

After some gossiping and chats with Sweetpea, Flam learns how they overheard Flim's declaration that he never cared for Sweetpea. And how they refuse to being treated as a pawn or any ol sucker on the street. Flam calmly listens but doesn't tell Sweetpea how Flim clearly has a crush on them and was definitely lying. He knows his brother better than anyone but that isn't his secret to tell. It isn't Flam's fault that his brother is stupid, but he'll try his best to fix it. He cares about his brother but also he needs Flim to stop wailing 24/7 about how Sweetpea hates him. They have a small apartment. The walls are thin.

Flam offers Sweetpea their job back and with a schedule to keep them as far away from Flim as possible. This is to buy him time until he can think of something better. Sweetpea accepts his offer.

Some time later Sweetpea starts to stand Flim's presence again. They still don't like him or his jokes but they can work in the same room with him now.

The brothers then offer Sweetpea another job. Sweetpea has shown a lot of interest and knowledge of how to pull off a successful scam. So Flam brought it up to his brother, how Sweetpea being more involved in their scams would quite helpful. Showing them the tricks of the trade could even be quite fun.

Flam approaches Sweetpea with the offer of teaching them how to be a con artist. The twins would take them in as their protégé and bring them along on their schemes. Flam also promises that they would consult Sweetpea with ideas and get their input. The twins need someone to keep them from making stupid mistakes. He also lets them know that this apprenticeship would end with them becoming business partners with the twins if they want it.

In the past being offered to work with THE Flim Flam brothers would have been a dream come true for Sweetpea. Past Sweetpea would have accepted in a heartbeat, but in the now they say to have to think about it. After a lot of consideration, they accept. It bothers them how the idea of working with the twins doesn't excite nearly as much as it used to.

The next chapter is Sweetpea and the twins traveling all around Equestria to swindle ponies and going back to the resort to plan for swindling ponies. Also they run the resort too if there's time. Sweetpea also visits Rarity as Midnight for modeling when they aren't work or with the brother. To keep their "business" ventures civil, Sweetpea and Flim start over. Flam makes them both agree that they have all have to keep each other in the loop so that means no lying and especially no emotionally manipulating another on the team for personal gain. This is entirely directed at Flim to not do anything stupid again. That and for Sweetpea's peace of mind.

This whole section of the story is filled with shenanigans and Sweetpea warming up to the brothers' tom foolery again. It's a slow burn to friendship then a very slow friends to lovers situation with a lot of pining.

Before that can happen though, Sweetpea does their first work of fraud with the brothers. They are tasked with keeping the pony Marian busy as the brothers scout how the best way to swindle Dodge Junction. The last time they were here the twins were entirely too distracted by Marian to get anything done. They're very vague about the details but Sweetpea doesn't pry. The twins fashion Sweetpea with an old-western disguise which is more like an outift than a disguise because it suits them so well and doesn't cover their face at all.

The brothers keep an eye on Sweetpea while they make first contact with Marian. Sweetpea sees no need for tricks and just talks with the mare. Turns out they had nothing to worry about like they hoped because Marian didn't immediately bite their head off and is in fact just a kind librarian that cares about her town. Sweetpea and Marian get along well, and hang out loads during the several days Sweetpea stays in Dodge Junction. This makes Flim incredibly jealous since he hasn't gotten his crush on Sweetpea and Marian is clearly into them. Like genuinely, she keeps flirting with them and bringing them on dates but Sweetpea just think she's being friendly.

Flim spends this whole trip watching Sweetpea and Marian from a distance in various disguises fuming with jealousy, totally forgetting the objective of scamming this town. Which is kinda ironic because the last time they were here, because the twins were fighting for Marian's affection also totally forgetting to Scam The Town. Flam decides to just hangout at the saloon since he recognizes that there's no way they're actually getting anything done here. Bored, Flam joins Flim in one of the bushes he's spying from to sarcastically ask why he even cares if Marian likes Sweetpea. It's not like he has a crush on them, and Sweetpea isn't taken so what's the problem? This flusters Flim because he's still denying his feelings hard. He then decides to try to fight for Sweetpea's affection. He doesn't make it very far since Marian confesses to Sweetpea. They politely turn Marian down and Sweetpea leaves the town on good terms with her. Flim is horrified at the thought of losing Sweetpea again, and finally accepts his feelings for them. He doesn't tell them but he's no longer in denial. Good job buddy, you've now upgraded yourself to the pining stage.

And pine he did. This stage is full of slow burn and friends to lovers like I said before, but there's also another slow burn happening with Rarity and Midnight. They've started to hangout outside of work and they really like each other. Midnight got a crush on Rarity then as Sweetpea regained their crush on Flim, which must have been a little conflicting.

When the confessions and dating finally happens, Sweetpea/Midnight makes sure to let each partner know that they're polyamorous and dating someone else but still loves them lots. Everyone involved is cool with it. You love to see it.

Sweetpea and Flim are mutually obsessed with each other. On the road of them getting together, Flim started being his authentic with Sweetpea and not his salespony persona. This made Sweetpea fall for him deeply. He was still charming and charismatic but also rough around the edges. He's dramatic, silly and has a strong love for showtunes. Flim and Sweetpea are both theater kids and sing together all the time, much to Flam's dismay lol. They're also together all the time and they both love the attention. Sweetpea even gave themself title of Flim's personal assistant. Which a title that they use mostly when they're all working at the resort as an excuse to be with Flim all day. Flam gets jealous of two inseparable lovebirds that he hires his own personal assistant which started as a job thing but then starts dating them. I'm thinking Zephyr Breeze would be funniest for this role, since he would be a terrible personal assistant.

So Sweetpea was dating Flim and also dating Rarity as Midnight. I don't have much to say on Rarity and Midnight's dynamic. Other than the fact that Rarity definitely wears the pants in the relationship. Midnight is happy doing whatever she asks of them. Their dynamic is also the 'me and the bad bitch I pulled being autistic' meme. Who is who is for you to decide.

Both relationships are going really well. So well that Rarity introduced Midnight to the rest of the mane 6! Which was quite nerve-racking for them since they saved Equestria several times and one of them is literally a princess. It was nerve-racking because Applejack there's something very familiar about Midnight and that she's seen them before. She did technically meet them first as Sweetpea when they were on their first date with Flim. I guess they kinda act similar because they're literally the same pony, but also Sweetpea and Midnight looks nothing alike. What are you even talking about Applejack?

The next big development of both relationships is Sweetpea/Midnight tells their partners and their friends about how they're a changeling. Which took a lot of vulnerability and they were particularly anxious about telling the brothers. Sweetpea is business partners with them now and they trust them, but part of them still fear that the twins would use their abilities as a tool and in the process disregard their personhood. Thankfully that doesn't happen and the twins accept them. It goes well, hooray!! When Midnight tells Rarity and shows her their changeling form, she tells them she loves everything part of them. She also tell them that their wings are beautiful, which warms their heart.

Sweetpea now feels comfortable enough to freely change between their forms around their partners. So technically Flim meets Midnight and Rarity meets Sweetpea for the first time, even though it's the same pony. Blue, their changeling name short for Bluebottle Fly, also show their partners their Tape form. Which is a form that don't use often and mainly just for sleeping.

Both relationships are going pretty seriously and it's around this time that Flim brings Sweetpea to meet his mother. Flam comes along too because the twins don't visit nearly as often as they should. I'll talk more about my headcanons for their mom, and dad in future. I put a lot of work into their lore and I like them a lot. What I'll tell you now though is that they live in Manehattan, which is where the twins also grew up in. Their parents worked together as a swindling power couple. The twins got their musical talent and charm from their mother. Flim is a total mama's boy and they would play piano together. Flam is closer to their father and has a mustache just like him, and all the other stallions on their father's side of the family. Anyway, in present day Flim brings Sweetpea to visit his dear mother and it goes well and is a very sweet time.

Sweetpea then expresses the interest of Flim and Rarity meeting each other. They two already knew of one another back when Sweetpea revealed their changeling status and straight told them who their other partner was. Before then they just didn't say, but Sweetpea didn't want to keep it a secret anymore. So Rarity and Flim know of each other and that they're dating the same person, but Sweetpea wants them to meet so maybe they could all hangout together. They're sure that they would get along.

When the three finally got another to mingling together, Sweetpea was right and they all got along swimmingly. They all started hanging out a bunch together. Rarity and Flim bond over their love of Sweetpea. Over time they naturally become a throuple with Sweetpea being the emotional and romantic core of it. They each go on their dates with Sweetpea separately but they also go on dates all together. Flim don't go on romantic dates alone together but they do hangout without Sweetpea sometimes.

The final part of ship lore I got before talking about marriage and potential kiddos is Chrysalis joining the polycule. She was in the background during the rest of the lore before now as she stayed friends with Sweetpea and stuck around at the resort. She got a little jealous when Sweetpea got into their relationships. She's their queen, they don't need anyone else. She doesn't act on these feelings, and she definitely doesn't acknowledge that these feelings could be romantic.

When Sweetpea reveals that they're a changeling, and they show Chrysalis their changeling form. She does the same when they're alone. The two bond over being changelings, and they look into what kind of changeling Sweetpea could be. Sweetpea definitely doesn't know and Chrysalis is curious so she starts looking into it. It's more of a hobby thing, so I won't go into detail here, but it keeps Chrysalis around. She starts warming up to Sweetpea since they're very kind to hear. Which is a little strange to her since she isn't forcing them to hangout with her and she was so cruel to them but they act kind to her regardless. She very much has a crush now but she denies it. She's also a little mean about it when she's flustered. Chrysalis is very much a tsundere, for lack of a better word.   

Sweetpea likes Chrysalis too, but the two don't really start dating because there wasn't a confession or anything. The closest they got is Chrysalis confessing that she cares about Sweetpea while being very aloof about it. Sweetpea then invites Chrysalis to hangout with them, Flim and Rarity. She agrees to join them, but she keeps her distance. Also this was after the three already became a throuple.

Chrysalis has pride in her changeling appearance so whenever the group is out of the public eye or any chance she can get really, she changes out of her pony disguise. At first it surprised Rarity and Flim that Sweetpea was knowingly friends with the ex changeling queen, but they got used to her when they realized she was basically harmless now. Chrysalis was their big scary bug lady that watches them quietly but menacingly from the shadows. They mean that with great affection of course.

To get Chrysalis to actually participate and join the group was like befriending a stray cat. It took a lot of patience and work, but overtime Chrysalis felt comfortable around them to gradually let them get closer. Then Chrysalis chooses to hang around them at a normal distance and she even joins in conversations now, usually with one word answers unless she's gloating but progress is progress. Chrysalis is officially part of group now. They're still working on Chrysalis accepting and expressing affection. Turns out Chrysalis is very easy to fluster, and they love flustering her all the time. Congrats Chrysalis you are now part of a polycule <3

I could've probably went into more depth in some places, but this is long enough as is lol

Amnesiac alicorn who was banished, frozen in the artic wastes until recently. Ofc, all she knows is that she woke up one day alone and cold.

This isn't her 'true form'. She recolored her coat in an attempt to be less scary, since the first interaction she had intimidated the ponies she encountered. She tries to hide her horn to look like an especially tall pegasus, but obviously that doesn't work.

Her Alicorn 'abilities' revolve around death. She can see spirits n ghosts that normal ponies can't, and leads them to the afterlife. If a pony (or any living being, really) dies, she can sense it and gives them a proper funeral, if nobody else finds them first.

Side note- why do ponies say "anypony" instead of "anybody"? Like it's cute, but I don't get it

Anyway, she doesn't have a mouth drawn because her skin kinda just peels open when nobody's looking. Her eyes can move to look in the same direction, but she can see just fine with her natural, derpy look. Also gives her more range.

She's not very good at flying or movement in general, since she was encased in ice, so she's very clumsy. Her magic is pretty strong tho. I'd say rarity at her best in the show.

I'm not sure how she would've gotten out of her imprisonment (maybe it was just a temporary spell that lasted some thousands of years?), but she was probably imprisoned for building a dead army or eating the souls she should've been leading to the afterlife, leading to her having no mouth. Idk, and it doesn't really matter lol
