Since this might become a habit, I’ve decided to show and link 2 MLP readings in the horror genre that I absolutely love to pieces and try to get reasons why out
Firstly:
This little story follows apple bloom as a creature taking the form of her sister’s friend Fluttershy tries to get into her room by the young filly opening the window for it.
I think I adore this story because it’s mostly from the perspective of a young girl going through normal childhood fears as it actually happens (such as a thing staring at you through your window) and that I love stories where the uncanny valley takes part even tho it isn’t the main focus.
Overall, I adore the child logic and how the creatures seems to focus more on sleeping in her bed then looking for her when she isn’t in her room
The second one:
Very much one of the greatest stories I’ve heard and something I’ve taken inspo from for my own book, it has to be not only my fav mlp story but my fav story in general, I’ve heard that there’s sequels and I’d love to read them.
Now I believe my interest in this not only comes from the level of mystery with the clues that help put a story together, but also the almost In character feel to all of them along with the sense of realism in reactions to everything going on around them.
My favourite bit has to be around the end of Twilights perspective (spoilers, please go watch the vid) where she says “it was so easy to push him into the darkness” because it shows how lost she is that she’d push SPIKE away, easily being able to imagine the terror he feels seeing his big sister/mother figure actively push him into the very thing he was so scared of.
Please go watch both of these, they’re basically perfect and bring different types of horror so both feel fresh yet familiar
