Also, in the past, you said that Felix's play didn't tell her that Gabriel was Monarch, however the creator's commentary says otherwise: the reason she had that dream where she killed Gabriel while trying to save Adrien was because she already knew that he was Monarch. The out of universe reason they did it that way was for the people who hadn't watched the previous episode. But if you want an in universe explanation, I have come up with one: the reason she gasped when she saw Gabriel detransform was because: 1. Knowing that he is Hawkmoth on an intellectual doesn't mean that she has fully accepted it on an emotional level. 2. This is compounded by the fact that Felix's play was a bit ambiguous: there really isn't any other way of interpreting it, but it could make it harder to register on an emotional level. Admittedly there is the bit where she tells Tikki that she is rescuing Adrien: on its own, it can be explained by the fact that the idea of rescuing Adrien carries more emotional weight than the idea of defeating Monarch, so that is what she focused on. But the context of that is that Tikki said that using her powers for personal gain has always gone wrong in the past. Maybe she didn't understand the play but Marinette did? But in that case, you would think that she would have informed her that he is Monarch, rather than arguing that she is doing it for Adrien. Although, given her willingness to let Nathalie and Tomoe walk free for Adrien's sake, it is possible that she considers helping Adrien to be more important than defeating Hawkmoth.
The answer is the episode thing, but it's still a *bad answer* Just because that's the explanation given doesn't make it a good one.
I can tell you the reason I don't like riding bicycles is because cucumbers are green. That's an explanation. It's not a *good* one. If they can't pull off a simple A->B Narrative then I'm not going to put in the effort for them to clean up their mess, especially when it's painting the rails on the titannic that is the S5 finalé.
Heck, you could claim Felix *did* show up, but the wish rewrote it so he didn't show up so that Ladybug would be the only one who knew what really happened or was able to directly affect things.
The play is a wasted episode done just so that TA could flex his artsy credentials at the expense of narrative. It makes sense when you realize he thought the series was going to end when he wrote it out. He wanted something fancy for the ending. Now the series just keeps going, and the play blends into the morass of middle-seasons to be forgotten other then as a 'What the heck?' moment.
