The Lady Dragon spinoff is no longer moving forward :/
I'm not really surprised, honestly. The special had no hooks. All the ML specials have focused too hard on the ML chars and not enough on the new characters for a spinoff to work. ML itself doesn't have ENOUGH pull to warrant a spinoff that doesn't bring it's own A game to the mix.
Fei was just... someone with shapeshifting powers. We've got like, a ton of those. Dead parents. That's like, a requirement anymore. Mysticism & China, that's done to death.
Maybe if it dipped deeply into actual hard chinese folklore it might have stood no its own, but ML has never done that kind of homework. It's pretty much non-copyrighted Expys all the way down.
