Speaking of which, Kuai doesn't have a clue how to do hair, but Takeda has experimented with his own and has shown Kuai Liang how to do some of them so that Kuai can put Hanzo's hair up

I need to see more fandom love for Mileena pre-MK1/12. Because that version of Mileena isn't really Mileena. It's Kitana if she was a little meaner.

A lot of Mileena fanart that I see is shipping, which isn't necessarily bad by any means, but I'd like to see some more solo stuff. I'd like to see her just being cool and silly. Speaking of ships, I've got a huge problem with the canon ine, Tanleena. It feels like forced representation, coming from a sapphic person. In all prior timelines, Tanya has been nothing but a liar who would sleep with anyone to get some power, and she preyed on Mileena because she knew she was desperate. In MKX, there was a lot of homoeroticism, which ok. Toxic yuri. In MK11, though, in Mileena's tower ending, we see that what she really wants is true love and affection, and Tanya isn't going to give her that. So why on Earth would you make Tanleena canon in MK1?? It completely erases both of their characters. It looks like Kitana and Jade if they were a couple.

And don't get me wrong, you could explore some cool concepts with Tanleena. It is bad for Mileena, and if the writers actually cared about the potential depth for Mileena's character, then they could've shown how something like being used for power (under the guise of true love) could affect her. But no! Just throw that all away, new timeline babyyyyyy!!!!

And speaking of Mileena's need for love and affection, I need EVERYONE to recognize that Mileena isn't an inherently evil person. She was raised to be a murderer and will carry out that goal for affection. It technically is "in her blood" as a Tarkatan to be ravenous, if you will, but that's also wrong as we see the Tarkatans living pretty domestic and peaceful lives. Raw animal meat is an option for her, so again, not inherently violent. She was raised to be aggressive. What she needed was some actual affection.

I don't blame Kitana for being horrified at the fact that she was cloned and mixed with a different race for the purpose of being a weapon. That action from Kitana though, to reject Mileena, left Mileena susceptible to manipulation. And, at least in the second timeline, Mileena is literally just a baby. It's the "born sexy yestarday" trope, which I hate, but she is literally described in her character profile as being childlike. So obviously she's going to listen to her "dad" when he tells her to go fuck some shit up. It's the only way she's gonna recieve and love. And this is made worse by the fact that everyone keeps on calling her an abomination. It's why she tries so hard to be a daddy's girl and succeed him as Empress of Outworld. She does want power, but she also wants love. Acceptance. That's what she's wanted her whole life.

And then this is then ruined by the new timeline which immediately "fixes" everything rather than try to explore the characters and make a good story.
