You and Tomas had plans for a casual day around town… until the sky said otherwise.

“Oh crap time to go!”

Tomas Vrbada, ever the gentleman, had you instantly moved to an empty home back at the Shirai Ryu. Except it wasn’t exactly empty, after all since you two just moved into this place yesterday. It was cold, the fresh spring air mixed with the heavy rainfall, and it was a good day to spend the rest of the time in your comfy home.

“Too bad it’s raining. I was hoping to find some sort of way to warm the house for us.”

The house may have been small, but you were sharing it with Tomas and that’s all you could ever need or want in this situation. He was lucky his older brother, Kuai Liang, was Grandmaster of the Shirai Ryu, gifting you and Tomas a small piece of land nearby, hidden away into the forest where Tomas felt more at home. He wasn’t a city boy, that much was obvious. He hardly even visited Madame Bo at her restaurant, only going out if you practically begged him to.

“It’s okay Tomas, we can find something tomorrow.”

You could see his frown from ten feet away, he was upset his plan had gone down the drain, something he had made especially for you. He had planned this weeks ago, annoyed that his plans went up in smoke. (Ha ha)

“Come here, I’m cold.” You said opening your arms wide waiting for Tomas to join you on the makeshift bed you had on the floor

Without hesitation, he vanished into a cloud of smoke, quickly reappearing as he tackled you to the ground, putting a hand behind your head as you and he rolled across the floor, you almost hitting the wall as you landed on top of him, squarely in his lap, his back against the wall.

“Ow.”

“Ow? Is the all mighty Tomas Vrbada simply wounded by rolling into a wall?”

“I meant ‘ow’ because you landed on my lap and I wasn’t ready.”

You could feel Tomas’ heartbeat through his skin and clothes, the rhythm very rapid and strong. His pulse quick, the burning sensation in his body that he felt was unbearable, and luckily for him, you didn’t notice he was quickly starting to warm up.

“A-anyways, what should we do? I was gonna suggest dinner at Madame Bo’s but…”

“The rain ruined your plans?”

“Yeah. Something like that.”

You crawled out of Tomas’ lap and looked around the empty room. There was only a simple table near the window, the short curtains just barely covering it, and the makeshift sleeping area you and Tomas had made the night before. Before either of you could make a move, there was a knock at the door, an almost patient and quiet sounding knock. Tomas moved, quickly turning to smoke and moving to stand just behind the door, one hand gripping the handle and the other clutching his weapon.

“Please open the door Mr Tomas! It’s cold out here and Mr Kuai Liang isn’t home either. I just wanted to get some food and-“

The door opened, a drenched Hanzo standing there clutching his overcoat as he shivered from the cold rain. Poor kid looked like a soaked cat.

“Hanzo! What were you doing out there in this weather?”

“I really wanted some food since Mr Kuai and Harumi haven’t come back since this morning. They were gonna go get something from Madame Bo’s with Lord Liu Kang but that was hours ago and by the time I got to the restaurant, it was pouring rain and I couldn’t find anyone. I just managed to see the two of you before you vanished. I figured you went home after.”

Tomas sighed, knowing that his young apprentice was going to follow him even in the worst situation.

“Come in kiddo it’s cold out there!” You replied pushing Hanzo into the house

Some time later…

“He’s cute.”

“He’s a handful, but he means well.”

Hanzo, now curled up like a cat in front of the fireplace under a spare blanket you found, slept quietly and peacefully. It was the first time in a long time Hanzo had slept well, considering whatever he saw before he found you scarred him so much it kept haunting him, even in his dreams. Hanzo was a good kid… just a little clueless when adults were doing their own private matters.

“He seems cozy.”

“Heavy sleeper. Bet he wouldn’t hear a single thing going on around him.”

Tomas looked to you, his grayish eyes focusing on your every move like a hunter, a hint of mischievous intent in them.

“What do you mean by that Vrbada?”

“Oh come on Y/n he won’t even hear us.”

Some time later…

You and Tomas, currently tangled under some light sheets and pillows, held each other tightly as Tomas lay almost on top of you, both of you topless and needy for each other. His hands were firm on your waist, gripping you as his knuckles slowly turning paler.

“You’re so gorgeous Y/n. The prettiest and smartest girl I’ve ever met.” He spoke cupping your chin

Rolling onto his side, still holding you in his grip, pulled you closer to him, trapping you in his arms as your back touched his chest.

“I love you.” He added as he gently nuzzled closer to your neck

Tomas Vrbada, the man who could kill anyone with a single stroke, was acting like he was a cat and you were his favorite thing to snuggle against wether it be on the floor, in bed, or just straight up leaning on you outside when you trained.

“And I you.”
