Okay so since I’m kinda crunched on time and I feel bad for being late I’m going to make headcanons, also because it’s true, I don’t see much for Miwa and I don’t really know her character much too well. This would be my first time writing for her, in the future I’m open to a fully written story, she’s such a cute and cool character!!!

Miwa at first wouldn’t be annoyed by the clingyness, she would just be overwhelmed by it. She probably thinks she doesn’t deserve the attention you give her, so she gets a little awkward at times.
For example whenever you may be studying together, you rest your head on her shoulder and she’ll try her absolute hardest to keep her focus on reading and not the thump in her chest getting faster and faster. She’ll be stiff as a board not moving a muscle and you can feel her tense up. It looks like she’s un comfy, but she’s just trying not to get flustered.
Once you got to know her better and comfortable with each other, the closeness doesn’t go unnoticed. She’ll get up to clean around and maybe organize her room and you’ll be there right behind her, not a break in your conversation. “You can still sit and talk to me, I’m just putting some stuff away.” She’ll say with an awkward laugh and rosy cheeks. Not like you were following her every step, just standing close and shifting to the left a little if she needed to pass.
She’ll start to feel endeared by it, when one night she’s up and replaying her memory of how you held her arm and snuggled close to her while you waited on line for a movie ticket. She’ll hear a notification go off on her phone, smiling because she knows it’s you. She has a specific text tone for you and you only. “I miss you” she reads, giggling because you saw each other not even an hour ago.
You’re always reaching for her hand no matter where you are. Cute mall date? Your hands are intertwined. Driving somewhere? Your hand will drift to her lap, just wanting to be close even if it’s not her hand holding yours. But eventually she’ll learn to drive with one hand.
I feel like she’s never been used to being so close to someone, so she’s extra careful in making sure she’s reciprocating. (She practiced driving with one hand on her own just to be able to hold yours.)
First thing in the morning she checks her phone to see about 15 messages from you. She’ll smile because her first thought was you and she’s happy to see that your first thought was her too. You’re not obsessive ofc you just like saying good morning and talking about what you did as you woke up. Or telling her about your dream. And she’ll lay there in bed and reply to each message before ever getting up.
You’ll come over and spend time together watching movies and listening to music. And somehow you always end up leaving with her hoodie bc it smells like her. And she’ll pretend to be embarrassed by it but she’s won’t admit that before you came over she sprayed it down with her perfume just for you.
She’ll start to need your presence even when she’s doing boring things like going to the post office. “Wanna come with me?” She’ll ask, hoping you’ll say yes, idk how she doubts you’ll say yes. So, ofc you’re there for moral support at the doctors, at the grocery store, at a meeting, or just checking books out at the library.
She’ll geek out about it too, whenever you say goodnight and leave, she’ll shut the door and wait for your footsteps to fade before turning around and attacking her bed, screaming into pillows and kicking her feet in pure glee.
One day you’re busy or tired, when she’s struggling to stay away from her phone, tempted to ask if you’re coming over. She’ll finally give in, picking up her phone to find a blank Notification Center. “No messages” … “oh”
She’ll check her phone every hour from then on. Getting excited each time she’d see your name pop up. She knows you’re busy doing your chores or running errands but she can’t live without knowing what kind of muffin you had for breakfast, or what flowers you saw on your walk, or what shoes you decided to wear today. She just wants your conversations.
She doesn’t notice it but she’ll start to share every detail about her day too. Telling you about how she dreamt you spent an entire day together, then an entire week and month. She’ll even start to plan dates. Full itinerary, down to where you’ll eat. But she gets so distracted that you both just end up going with the flow.
At first she was too shy to initiate any affection, so she was relieved that you were the one pulling the weight in the romance. Now that she’s had time to adjust to the attention, it becomes easier for her, because she now knows that you’ll reciprocate.
If you’re walking somewhere together and you let go of her hand to tie your shoe, she’ll squeeze your hand before you can fully let go, until she realizes what you’re going to do and hesitates before letting go, but she won’t admit that she didn’t want to let go, or that she misses your hand even when it’s gone for 30 seconds.
She’s used to your affection in private, but gets really red and shy when you kiss her cheek in public, and hold her from behind when she’s ordering her food. She’ll care too much what other people think but slowly start to be carefree as long as you’re happy.
You always greet her with a hug. After a long day of work or missions, the first thing you seek out is a hug from her. To you it’s like home, not a place just a feeling.
If other people notice, they might tease you but she’ll be quick to defend you. “Trust me I like it” she’ll say, face as red as a tomato but worth seeing the smile on your face once she admits it.
She’s never been loved so openly, every hug makes her fly up to cloud 9, even months into being together. And she’ll joke with you like: “how am I supposed to cook if you’re glued to me?” And you’ll just giggle and give her a kiss while sitting yourself on the counter a safe distance away from the stove, but still close enough for conversation.
If she ever gets sick, you’ll refuse to leave her side. Checking her temperature every hour, making her chicken noodle soup, and insisting that she take her medication, even if it’s nasty. If it’s the other way around she’ll do just as much for you too, she’ll even kiss you, not caring if she gets sick after.
If she’s ever sitting in front of you, let’s say in a car, or if you’re on the couch and she’s sitting on the floor in between your legs just watching tv… her hair will be in braids, pony tails, twists, buns, or any hairstyle you can think of. Her hair is nice and silky, easy to work with so how can you resist the most perfect fidget.
She’ll never refuse any love and affection that comes from you. “Can you hug me?” She’ll be standing in front of you in one second. “I’m cold” she’ll be warming you up faster than blinking.
She gets flustered still when you’re just admiring her, she’ll try to avoid eye contact until you say “you’re pretty” and she’ll shut her eyes and reply “thank you.” … and she’ll think about this compliment for the next 3 days.
You never introduce her to people as Miwa, you always say “my girlfriend” just to see her blush. Plus the word girlfriend is fun to say especially when it causes a reaction.
If you’re sleepy you’ll always go to her, head on her shoulder or lap it doesn’t matter, the point is you’re laying on her. Even if she’s not napping you are. And she loves that even when you’re not conscious you’re still close to her.
She eventually gets equally as clingy. And if one day you’re just in your own world not holding her hand or messaging her, she’ll start to miss it. And the roles will flip and she’ll be the one asking “where’d you go?”
You don’t notice at first when she starts mimicking your mannerisms and habits, but you’ll see she starts initiating closeness in public, and reaching for your hand first. It becomes natural, but it clicks for you one day. “Who’s the clingy one now?” You tease as she turns bright red, but she never lets go of your hand.
