Itâs 1773, and the Russian peasantry are in turmoil. The cry for freedom grew louder every day. The threat against the nobility grew stronger every day. However, communication with the far reaches of the vast Russian continent was poor. By the time any armed forces could be properly militarized, the majority of the revolutionaries would have marched further towards the capital. The largely peasant-based military also made it harder to stop the rebellion.Â
A message MUST be sent to the royal family before itâs too late. Thankfully, the Tsar is on vacation and his brother is in charge of state affairs.Â
Late one night, a lone messenger rides into town. Both he and his horse are exhausted, but the messenger refuses rest. He MUST tell the Tsar of the impending threat. He is told that the Tsar is absent, but he may give the message to his brother, who will act accordingly. However, as the business of governing a country is exhausting, the messenger must not keep the brother up very long. He may only speak three words.
He is admitted to the brotherâs chambers, where he is greeted by a somewhat tired looking man in fanciful pajamas. âWell? Whatâs so important that you have to barge into the palace in the middle of the night?â the acting Tsar asks.
The messenger bows deeply. âSerfs up, Duke!â
