Did you see that the school in My Summer Of You is the same as the one in Our Youth?
Thanks for the ask, @avorragule! Yes, I did notice that they were the same school. It's those archs, I tell you.
@my-rose-tinted-glasses also informed me that Minato's Laundromat used the same school!

A Dream of White Flowers (ao3)
Jin believes that nothing in his life will improve until the law changes, but maybe that isn't a given. Maybe things are allowed to get better sooner.
Or: An epilogue of the epilogue, in which Jin thinks about marriage, has to deal with his shitty parents, makes some new friends, and spends a lot of time kissing Haruki, though not exactly in that order.
Misery Loves Company
Emotional damage. Three scenes.
These are the first ones that came to mind. There are definitely others!
The end of Episode 6 of The Eighth Sense.
This brought a bunch of plot threads together in about 45 seconds and left me wrecked (and if my Tumblr feed was any indication, lots of other folks felt it too).
Teh's "we're just friends" after the underwater kiss in I Told Sunset About You
(I need say nothing about this, do I?)
Miseinen/Our Youth Ep 7
This scene delivered a wallop.
And in a different way, this scene moved me. I wasn't miserable, but I was definitely in tears.
watching this show at 1 in the morning in complete darkness without skipping forward even once was a devastating experience and honestly everyone should try it within their lifespan

Four seasons tag game
BL/GL/Queer media edition
Tagged by @pointlesscandies in this post.
(Took me a while to do this because it's hard to pick a scene and gif 😭😭😭 Also, because I have the memory of a gold fish, I would be choosing those from my recent watch)
The rules: For each season (summer, fall, winter, and spring) pick one BL, GL, or queer series that you think embodies the feeling of that season for any reason. Let your heart guide you. Post two gifs for each show. Then, let people decide which season each belongs to and why.
1. The On1y One (2024)
2. Our Youth (2024-25)
3. Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo (2024)
4. Gelboys (2025)
Tagging @heretherebedork, @miss0atae, @telomeke, @dribs-and-drabbles, @negrowhat, @pinkkop, @dribs-and-drabbles, and anybody who would want to play 😊
Trope Tuesday: Let's Brush Together
I'll probably create a master list moving forward, but so far I've featured two tropes for Trope Tuesday - the neon sign and gifting shoes. And I recently highlighted a somewhat spicy trope featured in Ball Boy Tactics. Those are all tropes I really enjoy.
But this week I'm officially featuring a trope I just don't understand - brushing teeth together. It's often featured in a couple's montage to indicate closeness and domestic bliss.
ThamePo: Heart that Skips a Beat
I don't keep track of this one in my spreadsheet, and I don't intend to do so. But it pops up frequently, and country doesn't seem to matter on this one.
I've said it before in a post -> I just don't get it.
I definitely see the significance of the toothbrush itself. Having a toothbrush at someone else's residence shows you have a significant place in that home and person's life.
I also get interactions like this one in Perfect Propose. I've done any number of tasks while trying to brush my teeth. You do what you need to do.
But brushing together? It's not something I've done nor is it something that I see as a relationship goal.
Fight For You
I normally just assume the synchronicity is supposed to depict harmony, and it maybe displays a degree of comfort with each other. Maybe?
If anyone can explain why keeping up with oral hygiene in a cramped space together is meant to be romantic, please let me know.
Because maybe I'm just not built for toothpaste kisses.
Fight for You
For now, here are a few more examples. It's DEFINITELY not all of them.

A Shoulder to Cry On
Us: The Series
As I said...this trope appears to be pretty universal. So there has got to be something there. Right?
(Edit: So far the consensus is that this is a simple way of depicting domesticity and comfort just doing everyday activities together. Guess it's common for other people to do? Hmm. I foresee an experiment coming out of this in the future...lol.)
