I started this animation on May 20th. This has absolutely consumed my life. It was also originally supposed to last until the end of the song but this has already taken way too long so I just said ‘screw that’ and cut it here.

Jack Stauber's OPAL

We see you, Opal~

Your troubles are miles away~

Tried doing another traditional piece done entirely with pencil & pen crosshatchshading. But this time the drawings in question feature the characters from Jack Stauber’s animated short OPAL.

They're both egotistical, yet insecure. They cut into people, but are secretly lonely and isolated to the point of insanity. They're obsessed with their appearance to make up for how broken they are inside. They both want to "ascend": Lou to the "Big World" and Mirror Man in a more metaphorical sense. They both have a fixation with mirrors and act unhinged. They also fidget/move their body a lot and like to sing musical numbers.

A doodle I made a while back with the mirror man, opal and granddad. Atlas is pissed off but he's trying not to swear in front of opal, one of the few nicest things he's done for her.

He's gonna go ugly cry later and spam Jeff incoherent vent messages to which will be ignored.
