Sarenne has me thinking of Miraluka accommodations in the galaxy and one of them that Sarenne makes particular use of is, like, a seeing-eye probe droid. She relies heavily on audio communication to get all her information, and this probe can read things either out loud or through the communicator she wears in her ear.
And one thing I was considering is, what if she managed to get her hands on a kyber crystal and then modified the droid to be powered by it? She could probably see holograms that it projected, then, similar to how she can see information projected by holocrons. But also, could she see through the droid? If it had a camera attached to it like some of our modern drones do, could she link up to it through her mask? Maybe it's a kind of multitool and can act as her macrobinoculars, as well.
Food for thought.
My personal headcanon for Miraluka "vision" is that they still don't see like we do, and I picture it kind of like heat vision, with some Miraluka who are stronger in the Force being able to sense certain people and objects around them like a built-in doppler radar.
Solid technology, buildings, and certain items in nature (like rocks) that aren't alive can be seen in this way, but they show up as dark spots in a world of light, since the Force doesn't flow through them. I feel like Miraluka would really struggle with technology that's not solid, like holograms, with holocrons being an exception.
Now, the reason I'm rambling about this is because of my Star Forge agent, Sarenne. She's Miraluka, and gets pretty messed up by Jadus when she fights him. She gets some cybernetics as a result, and that made me start wondering: cybernetic prosthetics have to be a whole other level of body horror for Miraluka, no? Because now parts of you, where there was once light and life, have turned into voids that you can't feel and can only see because of an absence of that light. It's like watching yourself disappear.
