#MirageStudios #TMNT No.45 "#Leatherhead TOO" #1992..one of @danbergerink #DanBerger's greatest #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles tales ever. #Croaker a low-ranking #FootClan leader heads a directionless quartet of ninjas fresh off another humiliating defeat by the Teen Turtles and the death of their leader #theShredder at the hands of the same foes. Seeking refuge in the Teens' old lair, a surprise awaits when Leatherhead has taken shop in the once thought abandoned sewer hovel. Croaker and the human ninjas are convinced by the Croc scientist to help him complete his refurbishment of an old #UTROM #Transmat unit so he can return to the Utroms and their home across all space, the only people who don't reject him. Croaker has other plans, to convince LH to become their new leader post Saki's demise. When the Turtles investigate, LH convinces the Teens to form a temporary truce with his new Foot allies to complete the Transmat even faster to so he can leave Earth. Everything seems to be going smoothly until Croaker sabotages the refurbishment unbeknownst to LH and the Turtles by destroying a small but imperative chip to the whole transport machine. Upon activation, the Transmat EXPLODES!! Leatherhead is crushed as his chance for peace is destroyed. He attacks and blames EVERYONE VOWING REVENGE!! He runs off too the sub-sewers not to be seen for a very long time. The Foot retreat and the Teens are left ro contemplate and be thankful for each other and their family. Ending the tale on one of the most poignant lines in all of the entire series's run..
