I swore I wasn't going to say anything about Covid-19 anywhere but my main blog, but this side blog has more followers, so:
When this is over, whether it be the end of spring or the end of summer, I NEVER want to EVER hear again how low-wage workers need to find "real jobs".
The grocery store clerks, gas station attendants, delivery drivers, call center workers are the only thing holding this shit situation together and you mother fuckers owe them your god damn respect.
I say this as someone with relevance to this pandemic: I'm in Washington state in the Puget Sound. We are the hot spot for Covid activity. My mother, who is confined to a hospital chair and who's damn diaper I change, is one of those 65+ at most risk. And she was just released from the ICU in the same unit where a woman died of the virus. My dad is worried and I'm trying to hold this family together while also trying to figure out how to homeschool my son with this new fangled "Core Math".
And thank the Safeway cashier for her fucking service.
