Phantom/Ghost — To Damascus
An album inspired by the life and writings of T. E. Lawrence (are we sure this man wasn't a living, talking muse?). P/G is a Minimal Electro/Dance band from Thies Mynther and Tocotronic singer Dirk von Lowtzow. Von Lowtzow is very well known for his catchy and bizarre german texts, P/G however writes everything in English.
The songs on this album are eerie and soft, some are downright loving. Von Lowtzow knows his subject of devotion and spins some sweet and gripping stories.
A personal favorite of mine is the ghostly intense "Laudanum" but of course "St. Lawrence" is the centerpiece of this album. The song "To Damascus" grew on me over time, it's actually quite clever, when you know more about Lawrence's motives and later life. "Sticky Paws" I'm not sure about that one... "Born with a Nervous Breakdown", yup, that's a good one. The album ends on a New Pop song "Nothing is written", it's strangely upbeat even as the text is sad.
Nothing here is overly exciting, or lascivious, or strange. It flows and ebbs, it tenderly caresses and shyly edges away on silent sounds.

03/09/2018 1901 -- “Evil_Enchantress”
Sooo that recording music and uploading on a consistent basis thing? Yeah never heard of it. It’s been a long while but finally, FINALLY I got around to recording and uploading some muzak. FUCKING FINALLY.
But yes! Over the weekend I got yet another random piece of muzak equipment (shock horror, I know). This time it was a Twisted-Electrons Acid8, which is a really rad TB-303 style synth that is basically an 8-bit chiptune-ey synth with a 303-style interface. It’s pretty fucking radical. So what does a silly husky like myself do? Simple, pair it with my Volca Sample and make silly techno/electro nonsense of course! Go me.

also you can probably guess where I got the name and the sample from in this. At least where the sample came from before I horrifically grinded it through a vocoder, heh
