minho isn’t particularly sure how well his excuse passes — to ara’s ears, at least. anyone else would just think of him as a picture-perfect boyfriend but little did they know it was thinly-veiled and highly unnecessary jealousy. he hopes briefly to himself that she doesn’t catch on to it and almost thinks he’s gotten away with that fact when she excuses the pair of them. “oh? i just thought—” not that far ahead, clearly, if the pause he gives is any indication, “you know. we’re supposed to be a couple and all. so we should probably spend some time mingling together instead of at two opposite ends of the room.”

"right, exactly." minho knew that it didn't sound great to say out loud, the fact his relationship could have an impact on his career, but it was just simply how it was. he didn't get much of a say in this sort of thing. he just tried to minimise damage control the best that he could. "i hadn't even thought of that," he murmured, a frown tugging at his lips. "i could always move out. relocate to a hotel or something for press reasons. you could visit me there. a bit less suspicious when there will be so many people coming in and out, right?"

it's been convenient enough for minho to have a partner. it's thankfully enough to stop his publicist from trying to force any awful PR relationships on him. these more casual, laid back events are a good excuse to bring his "girlfriend" along without feeling like they need to be all over one another for the cameras but that does mean when he finally catches sight of her talking to someone else after them having spent the last little while apart, what he sees throws him. he doesn't even realise his feet have carried him across the room until he's beside the couple and looking between them, "—i was looking for you. i hope you're having a good night?"

"suggestions?" minho scoffed, rolling his eyes. "your suggestions aren't wanted or welcome however considering my friendly advice a suggestion to you. you won't do well in this industry acting as though you're running everything."

"i'm filming a rom-com, while it's not been explicitly said yet they're obviously going to fabricate some sort of co-stars romance," minho murmurs, pinching the skin between his eyebrows. he's never liked explaining this part of his life to anyone. the part where he has no choice in what he says or does. "if i'm seen with someone that's not her..." doesn't finish his sentence, hopes that she can pick up what he's implying. it wouldn't look good.

"i'm not quite sure why you have become such a prevalent subject in my interviews," he muses, despite the fact it's not actually too difficult to put two and two together. "i think you're garnering some of your own fans."
