14. that one thing you see in fics all the time

Answered this one already but I'll give another because I love whining and complaining. It always annoys me when im reading a bottom! Feng Xin fic and the author makes sure to mention that Feng Xin never usually bottoms. Unless its for the plot because that can be hot. I dont really mind when they're written as switches and thats mentioned either, even though its not to my particular tastes, its specifically when the author feels the need to remind everyone that this unusual for him and they'll return to the topFX bottomMQ status quo afterwards. But idk maybe they publicly execute you on fengqing Twitter if you dont do that

21. part of canon you think is overhyped

Saying this with all the love for that scene in my heart. But the 100 swords scene was nowhere near as traumatizing to me as people make it out to be.

I see people talk about Xie Lian's time busking all the time but no one outside of Feng Xin nation talks about Feng Xin being a street performer :(

It's always going to be Feng Xin (and MQ). This time I got him pregnant though. so it's different

19- the most interesting topic you've researched for a fic

aaaa there's so many to choose from!!! tgcf especially gives me so much to research because I love history bullshit. It's probably got to be "Feng Xin Quest" though. This is the multi-month process of slowly losing my mind in my university library trying to find information I can use to base his backstory on. None of my actual classes or assignments matter. There is only Feng Xin quest.

(Not technically for a single fic, but I do use it for a basis of everything I write)

Also minor shout out to all the fucking medical journals I've "had' to read for the mpreg fic.

28-your least favourite part of the writing process

I hate editing in general for any sort of writing thing, but I think I might actually hate formatting the fic in ao3 more. There's probably a simpler way to do it? Maybe? I don't know that though. Alas this is the price I must pay to put my silly little text separators and italicized words

I don't usually cry at fics, but this one had me fully sobbing by the time i finished it (tw: cancer)

I'm going to go with Fenglian (my beloveds) to save myself the shame of naming any of the Riverdale rare pairs I got way too invested in

I've read so many good au's this year that it's really hard to pick

@luckymoonly 's Anchor Up to Me (modern au/medical au) was definitely one of my favourites. It's such good Fengqing hurt/comfort

2. You have to leave your beloved pet with a TGCF character for a weekend. Who do you choose?

Yushi Huang 100%. Partly because she seems trustworthy and responsible and probably has some animal experience, partly because of process of elimination. and i think my cats would like her. she also seems like the type of person who could wrestle a small animal out of their jaws unharmed if one accidentally got inside

or Lang Qianqiu. Ig he technically has a cat in the manhua, and he’s taking care of Guzi post canon. Just as long as he’s not anywhere near Qi Rong during the weekend

Maybe sqx but only if this is post canon. my cats dont need to deal with black water or the reverend of empty words. I feel like they would love cat babysitting at least

Fengqing aren’t an option, even if they’d probably be fine separately. They comes as a matched set and would probably start fighting. And then Hualian would probably be too busy making out. Qi Rong is Qi Rong. Pei Ming or Shi Wudu would probably be fine but i dont trust them. Jian Lan has a whole demon baby to take care of already. Ling wen and Yin Yu are already both overworked so they probably wouldn’t even be available. Quan Yizhen might be fine, but I wouldn’t hire him unless no one else was available. I dont think mei nian qing is even good at taking care of children so he’s out. Same goes for the King and Queen of Xianle. Jun Wu isn’t allowed within 50 feet of my cats

11. Out of TGCF’s 5 big books/arcs (present day, flashback, present day, flashback, present day), which one is your favorite?

Book 4 my absolute beloved. I love the angst and drama of it all. And ofc the fenglian of it all.

Also has some of favourite Feng Xin moments, which means it automatically shoots up in my rankings. I will never be over knowing that he canonically hums when he’s happy

2. Compelling argument as to why your fave would never top or bottom

sfdgdjaj this one’s hard. as much as I am a bottom feng xin enthusiast i am also a believer in fengqing switching. But honestly I have a hard time seeing Mu Qing, given all his vulnerability hangups, being comfortable bottoming, especially early in a relationship or during a friends with benefits situation. I do think he could get more into it, as time goes on, but I think at the start he’d have to be completely in charge and in control. At the very least he’d have to be a hardcore power bottom.

Feng Xin!!! That may be the easiest answer for me to put here but that doesn’t mean it isn’t true! Anyone who calls him boring is immediate being sent to my shadow realm acid prison for 10 000 years. I assume you have to actively ignore all of his character traits to come to that conclusion.
