I was thinking about The Other Side by Blackmore's Night as a minewt song, and it gave me extremely sad married minewt thoughts. So imagine:
Newt and Minho get married in the Glade. They remember the concept of marriage, but not what a wedding ceremony is like. So they basically just say "we're married" with Nick and Alby as witnesses and then announce it at dinner that night. Also Frypan bakes them a cake.
They don't have any rings. At first they try to make rings out of grass, but they give up on those pretty quickly because they fall apart too easily. One time Minho puts a request in the box for a "wedding ring for my beautiful husband". WICKED does not fulfill the request.
Sometimes they'll talk about what they want to do when they escape the maze, the life they want to build together, and they'll bring up that they're going to get rings. But otherwise they move on from the issue.
Until Minho sees a flash of gold on the ground while walking through Denver. It's a wedding ring. Someone must have dropped it, but it's his now. Or rather, it's Newt's, because he's going to give it to Newt as soon as they get back to the berg. But of course Newt isn't on the berg.
Minho brings the ring to the crank palace. It's not how he wanted it to go, but he does get a chance to give Newt the ring.
Newt watches Minho leave, taking in every last glimpse of his husband he can get. So he notices when Minho reaches out to place something on a nearby table. He springs forward to grab the object and discovers the ring. He understands that it had been too painful to say out loud, but the ring was Minho's final "I love you".
Thomas eventually tells Minho about Newt's death. He knows Newt and Minho were married and he knows they never had rings, so he feels a little awkward mentioning the ring Newt was wearing because he's not sure what to make of the timing of it. But it seems like something Minho should know. And when he says that Newt had a ring on his wedding ring finger, Minho bursts into sobs.
Knowing that Newt kept the ring was like Minho getting one final "I love you" too.
