Things I've done in Minecraft
I think I've been playing minecraft for around 10 years now.
Over those 10 years, my playing style hasn't changed much, and I never stay on one project for very long. I have a lot of early-game survival worlds and lots of creative projects.
When I was 9 I made my own city called "Conkerland" (yes thats a reference to Conker the Squirrel, I only knew about that character because he was an available skin for the 2nd Birthday of Minecraft Xbox 360 edition). The city was chock full of 'cube' buildings with the interior inside. There was my house, spruce with birch strips going down the corners. The rooms were just more cubes with the interiors inside. I had a hotel with cube rooms, it had a restaurant and a swimming pool. A shop called "tescos", a standalone restaurant called "The red rose restaurant" and I had a veterinary for my pet chickens. I also built a separate house for one of my friends. I even had a bank which contained a dark room and a two walled wall so I could hide the vault of money in the wall, I considered that top-tier engineering. I can't remember much else aside from some tidbits like my iron golem memorial. I tried to remake it back in 2020 during lockdown.
I made a tower based on one of my dreams. It's situated on a hill and was made out of blackstone and blackstone adjacent materials. On one level was some carrots growing. The second level was where me and my best friend found their mum who told us to leave. So we did, but we needed to go the tower to get more food. :(
I make civilisations sometimes, I have one in the Savannah and I just started one in the taiga/mountains. There are two types of architecture, and there are two cultures. If you are a mountain person, your house will a small cottage type thing that can't be very high cause mountains can be windy af and I doubt you want smth built tall where it's blowy. If you are in the taiga, you live in a treehouse and you should from materials you can find nearby, travelling for materials is uncommon and is reserved as part of work as someone in the taiga communities. The Savannah community wasn't that interesting, except maybe for the creation of the houses, that was fun.
I played the tutorial worlds A LOT. Some of my fondest memories come from the TU19 update. It's where I worked on one of my oldest characters. I miss that time and world. Maybe one day I'll talk about this character more. I have plans to discuss another character.
My friend in Year 9 made a city we all lived in, he built me a house and we had our minecraft beds next to each other which was a thing I was just like "yeah okay, that's a thing". I think we tried to defeat herobrine in that world. No luck there lol
I made a world called "odyssey". It was designed to feel a little off. I had a fake out house, the real house was meant to be a cave underground. I was going to have a railway system as well. I think it was the world generation that made it weird. I put on world experiments and this was when they were testing the new mountain and cave generation and it went a bit wild, so that's what might've made me feel weird about this world. That update made me feel very strange. I was going through some motions tbf.
If I had a theme tune for odyssey it would be this (aptly titled, this was never intentional, I didn't know what the song was titled until I found the song)
I can't remember much else for now, I'll probably continue this thread when I remember something. If I can find pictures, I'll upload them in due course.
what are your minecraft memories?
